This is from the May 2001 issue on page 122.
We had this for dinner on Monday night. It was done in under a 1/2 hour. I used chicken breasts instead of thighs, because it was what I had and we don't really like dark meat. Anyway, we thought the flavor was excellent and the chicken was really moist. The marinade added a nice "bite" to the chicken. My husband said "this is really good." And ate the left over couscous all up. I was somewhat leary of using the broiler, as it alway sets the smoke alarm off in our apartment, but there was no smoke with this recipie.

I had this for dinner last night, too! I did use thighs, however. It was yummy - the marinade made a nice change from many other chicken recipes.

I also made couscous, but used ww couscous (more fibre) and added green onions and chopped mushrooms, since I didn't have any dried fruit of any kind. I also served a side of baby peas, plus my usual green salad.

I have the oven "fried" recipe on tap for later this week. I have never liked any oven "fried" recipe yet, but this looks like it has potential.

Thanks for the review. I'm thinking about making this one tonight. Glad to hear the chicken breast substitutes well. I've never liked dark meat. Is it good and spicy or should I add more heat (we like things pretty hot in my house).

I made this Saturday night and we loved it! I also substituted chicken breasts and thought the flavoring was perfect and the chicken was very moist. I added more spice to the marinade than the recipe called for (as I do with most recipes) and ended up marinating the chicken for about two days (didn't cook it when I had originally expected).

I made this recipe for dinner last night and thought it was pretty good. I used chicken thighs and baked them instead of broiling them. (I have an aversion to using my broiler!). I probably won't repeat it because there are so many other chicken thigh recipes I like better from the May issue.

Tried this one last night- first time I've ever had "thighs" but I thought they were tasty. I broiled for about 10min. then switched to baking too. Had it with a different couscous (leftover from an online Rosemary Swordfish with Vegetable Couscous recipe) but it was yummy. I really like it when you can marinate overnight and just throw it in the oven when you get home (and finish working out, of course).

I just finished this and thought it was delicious! Very different flavor, but I really enjoyed it. Will make again.

I made this for my DH yesterday. I marinated it about 5 hours. Left out the cumin because he doesnt like it, and added more curry and a tad more cayenne. We ended up grilling it and served it with a veggie couscous. He said the flavor was very good, but he didnt think it was spicy enough.
