While visiting Nashville this week with hubby who was there on business, I went to a cooking class at the Viking Appliance Center in Franklin, TN for a cooking class - what a great time we had - we had a traditional southern meal - plus we got lots of tips and they had such a great store there for all our favorite gadgets, etc. We had hoppin john salad, very light buttermilk bisquits, pecan encrusted catfish, creamed spinach, and lemon chess pie - definitely not cooking light!

Wow that sounds like so much fun! I never heard of these classes, and wonder if we have anything like that here in Chicago. I'm going to the Viking website to check it out. I know it would make me want that stupid stove like nothing else, though, so maybe it's better I don't go???!! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif
Well, I found the link really fast...here it is for anyone interested in seeing and reading about this place...looks SOOO COOL!

Unfortunately for me, there are only two, both in the south. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/frown.gif Looks like a great weekend trip someday!

Thanks for the recommendation! I live 45 minutes east of Franklin, TN but have never been to the Viking shop. It's amazing what we have in our own back yard and don't even realize!! I'm looking forward to checking it out!
