I'm finally going to get Mastercook Cooking Light 6. Only....I can't find it anywhere in town! I've been to Target, Wal-Mart, BestBuy and several smaller places. I did find it on the internet both at Amazon.com and also at Sierrahome. Both have it for about $29. It comes with a CL subscription at Sierrahome; I don't know if this is the case at Amazon.com.
Has anyone bought Mastercook recently? What's a good price? Does it always come with a CL subscription? One of the websites shows it with the blueberry poundcake on the cover and the other one shows it with a lime pie on the cover--does that make a difference?
Thanks for any help!

I recently purchased this at Target for $20. I've got MasterCook 6.0 with Key Lime Pie on the cover. My box did not have the subscription offer on the box, but I just went to the Sierra Online web page and was able to print out a form for the subscription. I'm not sure if there is a difference between the Key Lime/Blueberry cake versions, but if it says version 6.0, I believe that is the latest edition.

I have the key lime pie one. I got it for Christmas (it was bought off of the internet...not sure where) and the free subscription was stuck on the front. I immediately sent it in but it is taking FOREVER to start getting here and when I called they said it should be here soon, that something "happened" to a batch of orders...I don't know...best of luck, I LOVE using the Mastercook!

I did find the CL program at Target, but not the one nearest my home. The $20 is the best price I have seen, but $29 is probably the next best I have seen. It does not matter if the rebate coupon is on the box; you can print the form off the website.
The 6.0 version has the key lime pie on the cover. It has a somewhat different selction of recipes, a faster search engine, and mine doesn't have the music everytime I open it like the 5.0 did. Those appear to be the main differences. The bigger difference is between those and the 4.0, which did not have the import assistant (I am told by reliable sources on this BB). Have fun!

I bought a "Best of MasterCook" 5.0 for about $12. It came with tons of cookbooks (including CL) and the price was right. I have not seen 6.0 (CL) anywhere, but have seen MasterCook 6.0 at Costco recently.
I am still trying to figure it out though. It is so much more intense than the last version I had (MC Express).

I bought Masterchef- I can't remember from where. I didn't like it. It kept crashing ion me.
i use accuchef which is a shareware program $20.00 and I love it! It is really flexible with printing and fonts!
You can try it out before you pay for it.

Thanks for the info everyone!
I had to travel out of town today and stopped at another Target which had the Betty Crocker version of MC, but not the CL. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/frown.gif
I'm so anxious to get it that I think I'll go ahead and pay the $29 + shipping from amazon.com or sierrahome.
I can't wait to get started!

If you have a Comp USA you might want to check there. That way you save the shipping and handling. Or Office Depot or Office Town would have this also.

Laden--how funny...last night I realized that I had never checked the nearby Comp USA store. I called them this morning and they don't have the software but can order it. It's $29 plus $9.95 shipping. That's about double the shipping charge of amazon.com, so I won't be going that route.
I'll try calling Office Max before I order online. Thanks for the suggestions.
