Mine are pretty simple:
Be Nice and Do It Now.
To explain--I think "be nice" is a good philosophy and pretty much covers every situation. Whether it's something as simple as letting another car go first at an intersection, or not snapping at some one when my temper frays, I'm definitely going to try to practice this one more often. As for "do it now", like probably a lot of people, I talk about "later" and "some day" and "at some point" on a pretty regular basis. Well, my goal for 2006 is to "do it now"--go to that special exhibit at the museum that we've been wanting to see, make the drive to that place we've been wanting to go to, and on a more prosaic level, finally clean all the crap out of the basement like I've been threatening to for a long time, and organize the paper flood in the office so we'll actually be able to find important stuff.
I think I actually have a good shot at keeping these resolutions. Following these will make me happier in the long run, I think, and that's always a good thing.
