I'm hoping to make this Three-Grain Breakfast Cereal recipe today that calls for quick cooking barley. I was unable to find any (even after going to three stores) but did find some pearled barley. The recipe calls for uncooked quick cooking barley, which you cook in the oven with oats, honey, syrup, etc.
Do you think I could substitue the pearled barley and just cook it a bit first? Any advice is appreciated.
