Definitely agree that Tom Cruise has gotten tiresome. For me, a lot of it has to do w/personality, intelligence, etc. I've never been into GC before b/c his previous movies weren't too impressive. But, the more public he's become, it seems that he's intelligent, thought-provoking and pretty interesting overall. He doesn't make me swoon like a lot of women, but I do like him. He's got a big ego, but it doesn't really get in the way too much.

I don't like either one of them.

I love George Clooney (and I adore his Aunt, of course). He's incredibly handsome, smart, and IMO, a really good (not great) actor.

My mom can't stand him - won't even look at the screen when he's on. She's a huge fan of Bill O'Reilley, and I guess those two went at it on his show a while back.

I never thought Tom Cruise was such a big deal, but I find it interesting that public opinion of him dropped when his sister was doing his PR. I guess he only became annoying after he hired her?

My point is, he probably hasn't changed, but when he hired a family member, stuff got out that probably shouldn't have. Or maybe should have. ;) :p

If I have to pick between the two of them, I'll take George. But I want to throw Eric Bana into the mix

I haven't seen too many of his movies, but he just has that "thing" about him that makes him sexy.

I need to have a GC movie marathon next time DH goes out of town. :D ;)

Cary Grant is one of my absolute favorite actors of all time!!

DH teases me for having a crush on Paul Newman, as well, seeing how he could easily be my grandfather. Then I have to remind him that Hermione Grainger is way too young for him :-)

Ahhh, just might be. He definitely gets better with age. Didn't care for the long-hair rocker look, but he looks mighty fine now.

From his Oprah appearance:

Without question he's so much more attractive now. I would also put the Connery in that category.

"oogled" him...or "Googled" Him? ;-)

I didn't know it was JBJ, but the image of a guy playing w/his son was enough to make me smile. For some reason, as I've gotten older, guys with babies/kids are hot! (and I dont' even want kids) It's just so sweet and anti-macho. Love it.

Both. :D

I guess one of the reasons he stays so appealing to so many people is because he's such a great guy!! He appreciates his band and his fans. He gives back to the community (Habitat for Humanity house(s), $1 million to Oprah's charity to do what she thought best, etc.) He's been married to same woman forever and is such a family man (4 kids!)

Someone mentioned not recognizing him because they don't read gossip rags...the cool thing about him is that he's NEVER in these things. I guess if you're basically a decent person in real life, there's nothing disgusting to write about. About the only time I stumble across pics of him is if he's donated something to somebody...or if it's something about him and his family....or, ok, the indoors football team that he owns.

And, darn, if he doesn't have the nicest smile. :D

One of the things that really po's me is when celebrities complain that they are hounded -- if you want to lead a quiet life, you certainly can and come out only when it suits you -- i.e. when you have to publicize a project.

Don't get drunk at the Roosevelt Hotel and dance on tables for starters. :D
