Today I went to a personal trainer for my first session since June. It was fun. I hope I'm sore tomorrow!

Working out with a trainer sounds great! Maybe I should ask for a few sessions for my birthday :)
I met my sis at the gym - we did 30+ minutes on the elliptical and then bailed out to go get coffee :D The time sure goes by faster when there's someone to yap with!

This made me laugh, Martha! I know what you mean, but I've never heard it put quite that way before. :p
I was at work until 2:00, and I have to leave again soon, but I did manage to work in 35 minutes of hill walking on the treadmill with a two minute interval in the middle, mainly because I wanted to be able to POST IT! :D Thanks for keeping me motivated fellow exercisers!
12 hour shift tomorrow, so I'll see you all Saturday!

Yay on everyone's workouts!
Martha, that's great that you got in a session with the trainer after a long time, and Kathy, good for you to fit in the workout despite such a busy day.
I ended up doing weights as well as abs on Tuesday night, and had a nice run last night (it was warm and foggy out :)). So today I'm REALLY going to take a rest day, except for walks and abs.

Due to a knee injury, I'm on running restrictions while getting Physical Therapy. *pout* I miss running!
Knee is due to overuse as I would run just about daily (3 to 5 miles, with long 8+ miles on weekends) and ended up damaging my knee. With running out of the picture, I treated myself to a personal trainer to create a new workout with more balance. I love it (even when I want to slap him for this torture he puts me through). He's really getting me set up on a good well-balanced core strengthening workout that'll get me toned up and more flexible.
This morning (at the ungodly hour of 5:30 a.m.) we did an hour of weight training and then I did 30 minutes on the elliptical and felt FABULOUS! I just love how good it feels when it's all done. That's what I remind myself of when I'm pushing myself out of bed to get to the gym: "Remember how good it feels afterwards. Go. Get up. Up Up Up UP UP UP !!!" *ha*
Tmrw is cardio only ... about 45 to an hour on the elliptical (450 calories) ... that is becoming my new 'running' replacement. The knee can take it very well and I get that same 'high' once I get into a rhythm so I'm hooked on it. I just miss being "outside" breathing fresh air and feeling the wind and sun. *smile*

Ah, pretty soon 5:30 won't be "ungodly" (now 4:00 a.m. is a whole other story :D ) because you'll be used to it. I too have to have a mental conversation every morning, but I always feel SO much better if I do actually go. And I hear you on being outside. It's why I really can't take the treadmill or elliptical. I swear I am bored within 2 minutes and am counting how much longer to go. If I'm outside, it's more like, "ok just make it to the next intersection."
