Made the Pumpkin Cinnamon Streusel Buns from October 2001 CL ... and they are sinfully good. I followed the recipe using canned Pumpkin Puree and an extra cup of flour version and while there isn't a noticable pumpkin flavor, they are fabulous! I cheated and used the bread machine to make the dough and then rolled them out by hand. Very good.
There are threads in the archives on these ... not sure how to post a link.

Ummmm...sounds yummy. I was on a pumpkin kick a couple of months ago. I'll have to look this up and try it!

I actually made them again very recently too, full fat style for work. No one could tell they had pumpkin in them and a bunch of people were weirded out by the orangey color so I had a hard time getting rid of them. Wouldn't bother again, I love regular cinnamon rolls so much more!

Well, poo! I decided to make these tonight, but I somehow missed the note about adding an extra cup of flour if you use canned pumpkin!!! When I turned it out to knead it, it was a big, oozy mess :( I destroyed my new pastry mat! It is now soaking in the sink to get all the dough out of it. Yuck. I'm disappointed. I usually read recipes so thoroughly!
Someday I will try them again because they really do look good!!

I was wondering if I could prepare those tonight and bake them in the morning? SIL will come over for Brunch tomorrow and I thought would be great.

Funny these should pop up again, I was craving a sweet roll today and stumbled on these in the Recipe Finder.
I made several mistakes, including using a full can of pumpkin! I ended up having to add about 5.5 cups of flour to compensate.
Even though my rolls didn't really rise outside the oven, they did rise nicely when I baked them and they came out quite good.
The nice part is - they have great pumpkin flavor, so I'm tempted to make this mistake again! The recipe ended up making about 16 rolls instead of 12. If I did add the full can of pumpkin again, I'd up the nutmeg and the streusel topping and maybe a bit more glaze.
Dani - I think you could try these ahead and just let them rise in the refrigerator - I have several recipes that call for doing that.
Here's a photo of how they came out, mistakes and all..........

Minutes after I posted here, I went to your blog and saw your posting. How did you know that I am thinking about making them?

I will give it a try then. Maybe I will also add more Pumpkin to it. I don't mind ending up with more buns, someone will eat them for sure ;)
