I planned on making this tonight and have my beans soaking right now, but I just read through the recipe so I could head to the store and get anything I don't have and now I'm confused...
On step 2 it says to use 8 cups of water...then we are to drain the beans and return them to the pan.
The next step says "Combine mushrooms and boiling water to cover in a small bowl." And again we are to drain the mushrooms next.
Is the water for the beans suppose to be saved? Am I supposed to use some of the water from the beans for the mushrooms?
As I read through the rest of the recipe the only other thing that would have liquid in it is the can of tomatoes but you are supposed to drain those as well. So it seems to me that something was left out of the recipe directions because it doesn't sound like it would have any juice.
Please help if you have any clues...
