I tried a search and couldn't come up with anything, other than someone was making them Tuesday night. I was hoping for a review earlier than that if possible. Thanks.

I'm bumping you to the top. I'd like to have a review too :-)
Made these last week to mixed reviews in my house. They were a bit blah; next time I'll probably add more cumin. The relish was very good, but one child doesn't care for dill so next time I'll leave it out. With those modifications, I think they'll be a pleaser w/my gang.

we made these last week w/ a bit of an alteration...my brother is a vegan, so we couldn't use the egg--instead we used blended tofu (an egg replacement suggestion). we all enjoyed these burgers. it's hard to find a good "veggie" burger recipe and this one is a keeper for us.

I made these on Saturday - they were dry and a bit bland but still good. The relish is definitely needed. I would probably make them again (we only make old recipes 3x a week) and would think about adding fontina or gouda and reducing the bread crumbs. We served these with grilled sweet potatoes (with a dijin, olive oil, rosemary glaze).

We tried them and didn't like them since they were too dry even with the relish (which was good). They didn't seem to have enough taste either. Sorry!

Hey, thanks for all of the feedback. I think this recipe goes on the back burner until I run out of recipes to try...yeah, right!

My DM, maizey, posted this over on the black bean thread. We made these black bean "burgers" a few weeks ago and they were great. Just posting this here in case someone wants an alternative recipe...this one doesn't seem to be doing so well in the review department. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/frown.gif
I will post the nutrtitional info from mastercook when I get a chance!
This is a recipe from Bon Appetit. Someone requested it from Chef Matthias Radits at The Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach. I thought it was very good.
SPICY BLACK BEAN CAKES
2 15 oz. cans black beans, drained well
6 green onions, finely chopped
1/2 cup finely chopped seeded red bell pepper
1/4 chopped fresh cilantro
2 large garlic cloves, chopped
1 1/2 tbsps minced seeded jalapeno chili
2 tsp ground cumin
1 large egg
2 tbsps plus 1 cup yellow cornmeal
3 tablespoons olive oil
sour cream
purchased salsa
Place drained beans in a large bowl. Using hand masher, mash beans coarsely. Mix in green onions, bell pepper, cilantro, garlic jalapeno and cumin. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Mix in egg and 2 tablespoons cornmeal.
Place remaining 1 cup cornmeal in small dish. Drop heaping 1 tablespoon of bean mixture into cornmeal; turn to coat. Flatten into 1/2 inch-thick cake. Repeat with remaining bean mixture and cornmeal, forming 18 cakes,
Heat 3 tablespoons oil in heavy large skillet over medium heat. Working in batches, fry bean cakes until firm and crisp, adding more oil as needed, about 6 minutes per side. Drain bean cakes on paper towels. Transfer to platter. Serve warm with sour cream and salsa.
editing here...
We made six large patties out of this recipe, for 6 servings.
this recipe calls for an excessive amount of frying oil (I know because I made the recipe), so I edited it...the original recipe said 6 tbsp oil and I changed it to 3 tbsp. That changed the nutrition from 347 calories (41% from fat) to the following:
