Tempeh.....Freeze?

I have a couple of packages of tempeh in the fridge and we are going away. Can I put these in the freezer as is? They are still in the original package. Will there be a change in texture when I use them?
Thanks for any advise, I hate to see these go to waste.

I almost always stick the tempeh cakes in the freezer, no change in texture, as happens when you freeze tofu. Since the expiration dates tend to be further ahead on tempeh, easier to freeze than pay attention to the date. I stock up when it's on sale.

I always keep my tempeh in the freezer too, so I always have some on hand. It thaws quickly in the microwave.
