To make it food related, if I win, I win a years supply of "gourmet" bird food that you cook up for the birds. I make it for them about every morning now (my homecooked version most times), but winning, or even coming in in the top ten would be great!
If you're so inclined, you can see her picture at http://www.beakappetit.com/04.html
she is number 35 and her name is Beaker. You can vote once a day, again, if you are so inclined :D
FYI, she lost her sight as a baby, she is now ...9...i think,
and we've had her for the last 5. She had a very bad infection in one eye that her owner (breeder/veterinarian) thought would spread to her brain so he removed her eye, unfortunately it spread to her other eye as well and it had to be removed at a later date. The first eye he took out (he had never done this before to my knowledge..on a live bird) he missed the tear duct so it still tears up and has to be cleaned up regularly. Second one was a charm though, she is perfect on that side (actually she's perfect all over, but a mommy would say that)
She gets along great, loves toys, and loves to hang upside down like a bat and screech to echo-locate where she is. If you move her into a new room, she flips over on your finger and screeches, and then moves her head back and forth like Stevie Wonder does when singing. No lie! I believe the echoes of her noise help her establish where she is in i the house, she only does it when you first move her (or her cage), and once she knows what's what, she's quiet again.
Anyway, check her out, she's a very cool little birdie :) If anybody has questions about her, feel free to ask!
