Heidi,

I went ahead and made this recipe as planned. After seeing your review, I reduced the spice mixture by 1/3 so I wouldn't have any leftovers in case we didn't like it. I also reduced the amount of black pepper by an additional third (1 teaspoon instead of 1 tablespoon) because we don't like things too spicy. Other than those changes, I followed it as written.

My opinion is complex. Without the extra pepper, the pork chops were still quite spicy, but bearable for us. I agree that the peach sauce wasn't super sweet. It reminded me of the fruit filling of a peach cobbler dessert. Kind of reminded me of a "comfort" food. Does that sound wierd??? I can't think of another way to describe it. The peach sauce was a nice compliment to the spicy pork chops...it kind of mellowed the flavor out a bit.

Overall, I would have to say I liked this recipe because it was so different. A decrease in the pepper is a must for those that don't like things too spicy. And I don't think I would serve the pork chops by themselves. They really needed the peach sauce.

My long-winded opinion!!! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

I think this is from this month(6/01).

I thought both the pork and the sauce were way too overspiced. It was like the spices were getting in each other's ways. And my sweet peach sauce wasn't sweet!

Has anyone else tried this one yet? Wondering if there's a differing opinion?
