I picked up a box of the Honey Almond Flax Chewy Granola Bars and I have to say I am pleasantly surprised.
I groaned when I realized that these were chewy bars but nothing in texture like other chewy bars. It's just enough chewiness to keep the bar together IMHO. Nice nut flavor and not sweet. Another of my complaints with the chewy bars. I'm going to try the peanut butter ones next. Here's the scoop:

I haven't had that variety, but have had the Peanut Butter and the Trail Mix, and liked them both.

I love these!
Not the price...I've seen them for as much as $5 a box, but they are only two WW points, are chewy/hearty enough to take awhile to eat them (and keep me full longer), and lots of crunch. Now they are starting to be available beyond my local coop too, which is nice.

Kellogg allbran bars are 20% cheaper, with 1 gram less fat. Similar nutritionally. In my market the Kashi bars sell for $4.49 and the all bran for $3.09

We enjoy them too, all 3 varieties are tasty... they are a bit expensive though - but lately our Costco has been stocking larger boxes of them!

Sometimes Sam's Club carries them as well. And dare I say, I have seen them at Wal-Mart.
The reason I will eat these (as opposed to not eating granola bars in general) is that they do not contain the dreaded high fructose corn syrup (check the labels on the others), and besides, I love all things Kashi! :D

I am not a fan of Kashi, but I like these bars. I got a pack with three flavors from Costco and they've all been good but I like the peanut butter the best. I think it was about $9-10 for the box of three at Costco (I can't find the receipt though and I may be wrong).

We've tried these too and love them! I love Kashi cereal but my DH does not. He often skips breakfast or lunch while he's working so I bought him a couple of boxes that he stashes in his car, office, briefcase so he can grab a quick and healthy snack when he needs too.
I've found a large variety pack at Costco and otherwise buy them at SuperTarget when they are on sale.

I love several of the Kashi products. These granola bars really filled the bill for something to take in my purse when traveling (you know how airlines don't feed you anymore). They are expensive though, so I haven't bought them since.
DH and I also love the Kashi GO LEAN CRUNCH cereal; I think it's much tastier than their other types (and has been known to go on sale in my neck o' the woods for 2.29/box). Also love their waffles!
I remember a long time ago I heard something about how on their website they had some type of 'club' and I've wondered if they might have coupons but I've never looked into it.
I love to hear my DH, who was a late convert to healthy eating, shout "Go Lean!!!!" :D when he talks about Kashi. :)

Yep, that was my quest also. I've been reading the labels and the lack of fiber and ton of other crap that go into granola/cereal bars just turned me off so I was pretty excited to find these.

I love these bars! Unlike other granola bars, they really satisfy me. Add a half a glass of milk, and I'm good to go!
They also make really healthy snacks for kids. My 19 month old loves them and they are a good on the go snack, with the added bonus that they take a while to eat. :D

I like the Trail Mix flavor type the most with pieces of dried cranberries, almonds, oats and other good stuff

I eat one of these per day. They are so great for when you're on-the-run, but don't want to eat fast food. I like the Trail Mix flavor (red package) the best. You can buy a combo pack of all 3 from Costco.

I bought more of these at Costco yesterday - they were $7.37 for a pack of 18. So they're a much better deal there than at the grocery store, according to the prices posted earlier.

Go to their website www.kashi.com and check out their online store. You can order their 3 box sampler for $10.99 and right now with any order they will send a FREE sample of their Heart to Heart Golden Brown Maple instant oatmeal (which DS eats all the time for breakfast). I have also signed up for coupons in the past and they are usually good on any Kashi item. They will send them snail mail. Also, check out their new GoLean Roll bars. They look sooo delicious....Chocolate Peanut, Chocolate Turtle, Caramel Peanut. ;)

Thanks for the coupon scoop! I don't come across coupons for Kashi products very often.

I've been taste-testing their new ideas for different products they send out to their testers for a long time, the first version of these bars were pretty good, but after they tweaked it a bit and the rolls are much better!

So how did you get lucky enough to be a taste-tester, Joe?
BTW, I love your blog :)
ETA, I just went to the web site and saw where to sign up to be a taste-tester. I did and for the coupons, too. Thanks for the tips everyone!

That's a great price. I looked at Kroger last night and one box is $4.49 (or .99) which isn't outrageous to me but still up there. If I was eating one every day I think I'd be shopping around for price. We don't have a Sam's membership and Costco is too far away for us.

I bought a box today at Target for $2.64 (not on sale). I had bought some a while ago but this thread reminded me of a good option for bars w/o HFCS or trans fats while still relatively high in protein & fiber

Have you heard Costco is coming to Columbus? From what I have read, it should be this spring, at I 71 and Polaris. I can't wait!

Yes, I have coworkers that live in the area.
I can't imagine having a membership because we live way south but I'll be happy to go to the opening to check out the store after hearing about it on the boards. I'm glad Sam's and BJ's are getting some competition.
