View Full Version : help-how do I lighten a yummy caramel bar recipe?

I have a recipe for oatmeal carmelitas from Pillsbury. This recipie calls for a cup of butter in in the crust which I believe calls for flour, brown sugar, oatmeal and the butter. It is to be baked in a 9 x 13 pan, any ideas would be wonderful!

Dec. 2000 had a bunch of cookie recipes and the pecan-caramel bars were quite yummy. Why don't you look at that recipe and either borrow the crust or use it for an idea of how to lighten up?
