View Full Version : As parents, do you find yourself eating strange food combinations?

There are times when I'm just too busy to put together a healthy meal for myself and my children. However last night I cooked fish sticks, chicken nuggets and leftover mac & cheese for my kids. I found a sweet potato that would go bad very soon, if not eaten. So, I microwaved the sweet potato and someone asked for tartar sauce. Ok, I gave them some and my thoughts turned to the baked sweet potato. Hmmmm, what about tartar sauce with the sweet potato? Well, I proceeded to put tartar sauce on the potato, added fish sticks (seemed appropriate) and ate dinner. That's when I thought, would I eat this way if I didn't have children? Of course not! I don't eat like that 90% of the time, no I'm not pregnant, but sometimes the busy life we lead doesn't allow much time or energy into eating properly. The combination didn't taste too bad, but it probably won't be repeated any time soon, I hope.

I'm not a parent and am eating, as we speak m&m's with gummy bears - yummy.

Does that just make me odd?

Pretzels taste great dipped in peanut butter (I've found). I'm sure I've picked up more combinations along the way...
