If a recipe calls for an 11 ounce can of tomatillos, how many fresh would you use?

7 or 8 maybe? Will they be pureed later?

I'd probably use a cup and a half of chopped fresh ones, maybe 2 cups. You could weigh out 11 oz of fresh ones - whether the can is 11 oz liq or wt it should be close with tomatillos as they're mostly water anyways.

Does your produce dept have scales? Buy 12 ounces. Once the husks are removed you will be close to 11 ounces.
