I realize this is not exactly "Cooking Light" but if you could make an ice cream sundae using ANY flavor ice cream, or combination of ice creams, and toppings what would it be? (In this fantasy, calories and fat grams do not count). :D

I'll start: Bassett's Vanilla ice cream, with hot butterscotch topping, malted milk powder, toffee chips, chopped macadamia nuts, a spoonful of real whipped cream, and a cherry. :p

Welcome to Ginger Pow's Imaginary Ice Cream Parlor!

Graeter's Coconut Chip ice cream with bittersweet chocolate sauce, crushed pineapple, and macadamia nuts. And maybe some more chocolate.

Oh, and a side of Lactaid pills.

This would be my choice:

One of these flavors of icecream: Bassett's butterscotch vanilla, white pistachio, jamoca almond fudge or butter pecan with hot fudge sauce, whipped cream and wet nuts

Or even better than a sundae is a vanilla soda with black raspberry or cherry vanilla ice cream and whipped cream!

And a couple of advil's on the side!

Only one?!?!?!? I narrowed it down to three:

1. A hot brownie (Ghirardeli), vanilla bean ice cream, hot fudge

2. coconut sorbet from Trader Joe's, toasted almonds, and midnight moo chocolate syrup from Trader Joe's

3. vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, strawberry or cherry preserves, crumbled ginger snaps

4. chocolate ice cream with caramel sauce

Ack! I can't stop!

oooh, I am with you on that one- nothing better than the warm brownie-vanilla ice cream combo. Swoon.

My other choices:

Coffee ice cream with hot fudge and caramel sauces, sprinkled with salted almonds. Whipped cream of course!

And vanilla ice cream with bittersweet chocolate sauce at Twohey's restaurant in Alhambra, CA. :)

Coconut (or almond joy) ice cream, possibly from Kimball Farms, hot fudge (creamy, not plastic-y), marshmallow topping (is this a New England thing? I never see it down here), and a BUNCH of maraschino cherries. And slivered almonds, or chopped pecans.

I daydream about this sundae, from time to time. Sigh.

chocolate soft serve, hot fudge, spanish peanuts (the kind with the skins on)...bringing up memories of hot summer nights, convertibles, and 17-year-old boys ;)

Turtle ice cream (or Nutty Coconut), marshmallow sauce (I'm originally from MA - maybe that's where I got my love for marshmallow sauce?), chocolate sprinkles, whipped cream, chopped nuts.

A recent discovery they have at Sheridan's Frozen Custard is: Vanilla ice cream, chopped pretzels, carmel sauce, & nuts...I always add chocolate sprinkles to this as well. Love the salty/sweet combo.

You've made me hungry!!

You should try the brownie/icecream combo with Barefoot Contessa's Outrageous Orea Crunch Brownies - talk about awesome!!!!

Naughty, naughty!!

As for the other pleasures that melt in one's mouth, I have already had my dream sundae: hazelnut gelato with whipped cream on top of a truffle-stuffed most decadent brownie cupcake, at cafe patachou last year on my birthday-- to top it off, it was free!!!!!

Ok, here it goes :p

A ridiculous fudgy brownie (aks Ina's outrageous)
cake batter flavored ice cream (either Tosconi's or Coldstone) OR Malted Vanilla (from Herrell's)
Herrell's Hot Fudge and Marshmallow Topping
Crushed kit kats and twix
Chocolate Whipped Cream (again herrell's)
Cherry on top!

Pick any of the above combinations and eat in the kitchen, when no one else is home & make sure it's dark...then no one (including you) can see what you are eating...whalah!no fat or calories!!

Make that for two and you will have a friend for life. :) Holy cow that sounds fabulous. (I wouldn't mind some toasted pecans in there, but could live without!)

marshmallow topping (is this a New England thing? I never see it down here

I don't know, but as a fellow New Englader transplanted in DC, I was thinking the same thing.

1) Cookies and cream ice cream with marshmellow and chocolate sauce

2) Vanilla ice cream on a warm brownie with chocolate sauce and m&m's

3) Vanilla ice cream with warm cinnamon apples and whipped cream

A hot fudgy, gooey brownie, vanilla bean ice cream (Blue Bell if they had it here), hot fudge sauce, sprinkled with crushed oreos, and topped with real whipped cream.

I think I will win for the strangest combination! I LOVE LOVE LOVE vanilla ice cream with instant, diet, lemon-flavored iced tea mix (powder) sprinkled on top! The tartness goes so well with the sweet richness of the ice cream! Yummmmmmmmmmmm. And I have no idea how I came upon this creation...I started it when I was a kid many moons ago! :p :p

Chocolate ice cream, caramel sauce, marshmallow sauce, real whipped cream, toasted coconut sprinkles, nuts, and two cherries. Heaven. Spent one summer in the Boston area as a teen. I LOVED and LIVED for Herrells ice cream.
