My sign-in name is almost my whole email address, and I would like to change it... How would I go about that? Do I have to re-register or something? I wouldn't mind using my AIM name, which is LakeMartinGal.
Thanks for your help.

You will need to get a moderator or administrator to do that. PM JenniferCL.

Re-registering is probably the easiest way to do that. You'll lose your count of how many posts, though (if that matters!).

I've tried for years to change my sign in name with no success. I have talked to a moderaterator personally. They said they would change it, they didn't, I didn't follow up and so here we are. It turned out to be embarresing. I had posted about children's table manners and a friend of my daughter found it. Fortunately, she has great table manners, but I was a little upset. Big Brother really is alive and well. Good luck, if you succeed, please let us know.

Re-register. The last item on the dark strip at the top of the post is "log out" Do that, return to the forums index, then click on "register". You'll be able to register a new screen name. The other will still be available to you, if you ever want to use it.

Thanks for the suggestion but it doesn't work. It knows my email and won't allow me to register.

I re-registered after the boards were down last year when my screen name was not accepted for a while. I still have that other name--although I haven't used it since. (Maybe sometime if I have an *embarrassing* question to ask, I'll drag it out for anonymity  ) But, I had forgotton that I created an e-mail address from Yahoo just to re-register--that's easy to do, too.

Thanks, everyone -- I was able to re-register, but had to ressurect an old email address to do it..., but now I don't have privileges to post, again! I guess that's just a "be careful what you ask for" moment!

Check you're email. You're supposed to get a confirmation email and respond to that, if I remember correctly. They want to make sure that those who register have valid email addresses and aren't making them up.
