Charrise, I figured you'd start the thread this week. ;) Admittedly, I was hoping the Seahawks would win, simply because of the rivalry between the Steelers and the Bengals.... but congrats anyway. :)
Today, it'll be am and pm workouts during my breaks. Didn't get anything done this weekend... I'm a slug. My weight has held steady, so at least that's something. Still no word on the interview Friday, but keeping my fingers crossed that something positive comes of it.
How was the weekend for the rest of you?

Does anybody have the Billy Blanks Boot Camp Workout DVDs? If so, would you recommend them? I've almost ordered them a couple of times from amazon.com but can't seem to make up my mind.

Hi Elizabeth!! :)
Sorry I don't have the bootcamp DVD's - I have a couple of his other ones (not too fond of them) BUT I think TerriS is a HUGE Billy Blank fan and does Tae Bo almost exclusively. She hasn't posted here for awhile but you may be able to pm her. FancyN also does Tae Bo as well - she may be able to help you.
I did BSS3 with Stephanie this morning! Needed to purge my weekend food out of my system. My dinner Sat with hubby was wonderful. We split an appetizer of mussels and crab meat in a white wine and tomato sauce. I had Australian Trout (unbelieveable!) Tasted like salmon only a little sweeter. And for dessert ......... German chocolate cake. Then at the party yesterday , it was dips, wings, ribs and I made Anna's One Bowl Chocolate Mocha Cake - OMG outstanding. So chocolate cake 2 days in a row!!!!!! At least one was light!!
This week I host Bunco (my first time with 12 women in my house!!) and then work Friday - then I fly to Iowa to see my grandmother. It's been almost 2 years since I've been out there. She's been in and out of assisted living and nursing home due to a fall. She's supposed to move back to her apt while my Mom and I are there. So I'll be out of commission Friday through Wednesday of NEXT week. So I have to gear up for that!!!
Emily - still keeping my fingers crossed for you!!! I'm getting positive vibes.
How was everyone else's weekend?!! :)

oh charisse! i am happy for you, but alas, if i would have watched (the power was out at our friends' house where we were supposed to watch it--someone snapped off a telephone pole with their truck--the 8th pole that day for the electric company!) i would have rooted for seattle too! :)
well, just finished Supersets with Cathe. yikes. my arms are still wobbly and typing is difficult. must relax. used heavy weight. am tired. more tomorrow...:)
well, not quite done yet--i took saturday off and then yesterday i got up early and tried out my new Yaktrax Pros! so cool--it was snowy/icy here so you slip them over your shoes (elasticy plastic with coils on the bottom for traction) and then take off. SO cool! i ran right over ice like nothing! had a great run and even tried some sprinting in the yaktrax. so cool. i love fun gadgets!
i need happy thoughts/prayers as my beloved SIL reports to active duty tomorrow a.m. and will be headed to Iraq by March we think. We must say our goodbyes tonight. this is heartbreaking. her name is Emily and we named Emma (Lee) in honor of her b/c of the outstanding person she is/could be/will be. it's a sad day around here...

I went in and did lowers and then treadmill (bumped up a little for a harder workout). This pm I'm going in to do maybe the elliptical?? ;) We'll see... I don't want to get too sweaty, but that close to the end of the day, maybe it won't be too bad? :p Yes, I'm sure my coworkers just love me. I heard they're working on an offer for our interview person... here's hoping she accepts.
((((Amanda & family)))) We'll keep your SIL in our thoughts and prayers... I'm sure everything will go fine and she'll have the experience of a lifetime during her tour. At least she should be able to communicate a bit now that e-mail is so popular, right? :)
Elizabeth, sorry I can't really help... I've never done any of the Tae Bo videos, though I've heard a lot of people love them!
Charisse, you're dinner out sounds fabulous!!! Wow! And you worked out too, good job! Be sure to get as many workouts as you can before you fly out... though I think moving would be plenty of work! :)
Nancy, I know you're home today, but maybe you can get a workout squeezed in while the little guy naps? Hope he's feeling better...
engineer? How'd the weekend treat you? Is it still in the single digits? Brrr... keep warm!
Shana?? Still around?
If I've forgotten anybody, I apologize... keep up those workouts, we can do it!! :D

((Amanda)) thinking of you and your family. This is really tough. We've had 2 good friends do a tour of duty - one in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. They have many stories to tell - many close calls but as Emily said an experience of a lifetime. They are now back. Hang in there as I'm sure she is an amazing woman - she will do well.
DH bought me 12 lbs weights today -neoprene - he got them at Play it again sports - 49 cents/lb - better than Dicks!! Can't wait to try them out tomorrow!!! :D
Emily - good thoughts on the new candidate!!!!

Yay, Charisse! (Sorry, Emily :) OMG - that dinner sounds amazing!!! I am green with envy :)
Emily, thinking good thoughts for that interview. I am with you on the holding steady on weight. With Super Bowl parties and all the traveling I've done lately, I am more than happy just to hold steady!
Elizabeth, I have the Bootcamp series. Honestly, there are others of his I prefer, because there is such a wide range of intensity in the Bootcamp series. I never use one DVD, and another is just not enough of a workout for me. Depends on what you are looking for :)
Amanda, the Yaktrax sound awesome! I have enjoyed seeing photos of your house on the blog. Thinking good thoughts for your SIL!!!
Okay, I did not work out today, but wanted to be here and be accountable anyway! I was 6 for 6 last week, but the week before was not good. We were traveling today. Will do better tomorrow!!!

Well, I did go in yesterday afternoon and did 15 minutes on the elliptical!! 90 cals burned, so better than nothing, right? (actually, better than treadmill if we're counting cals!) I've changed my schedule during the day and am pumping during my am break (going to be stopping that at work altogether after the end of the week) and went in at lunch to do uppers. I bumped up the weights quite a bit and am all shakey and rubbery now! Yay! This afternoon, I think I'll do elliptical again - it was a nice change from the treadmill. On the food front, today has not been so good. I had a doughnut this morning - just a glazed, so it could have been worse  but still bad all the same (also ate a few meatballs in BBQ). I'm going to skip my post-dinner bowl of cereal to make up for it and try to do my Pilates for Dummies DVD after the little man goes to bed. It's only 20 minutes, surely I can fit that in!!
Still no word on the interview... <sigh>
Shana, wow 6 for 6 last week! That's really great! Hope you're able to get some sort of a workout squeezed in today!
Charisse, let us know how the weights... well... weigh! :D I moved up to using the 10 pounders in the fitness center for my uppers... unfortunately, there's nothing in-between those and the 15's. Bummer.

Hi guys, I'm around still - just busy with the grind. DS and DH are officially sick! :( Boy, I have my work cut out for me. No working out yesterday and tomorrow isn't looking promising either. I need to get my hiney up early and quit complaining! :p
Em, donuts are my number one weakness (esp. KK, and brownies are a near second  ;) ) but they give me heartburn. One won't kill ya. Yay for getting to dump the pump! (hahaha ;))
Amanda, prayers to your SIL. I'm sure all will be fine and she'll return with amazing stories. HUGS!
Shana, good job on the 6's. And hey, everyone has not so productive workout weeks. Hello, I'm the prime example! :p
Charisse, your dinner does sound fabulous! That was awfully sweet of DH to get you your weights!! What's planned for Bunco?
Engineer - your turn! :)

Ok - I cleaned/organized this morning so I don't have a lot to do tomorrow. Dumb things like pulling out all of the board games from under the couch - Can I tell you how many things 2 couches can hide?!!!!!!! I moved the couches, vacuumed etc.... A clean living room, dining room and kitchen. THEN I went and did Low Impact Step with Cathe. I SO did not want to do this. But pushed myself. Ugh. done. Tomorrow early am will be uppers and abs - I will use my new weights then!!!
Bunco is Buffalo Chicken Dip, Peach/Mango Salsa - chips, veggies, assorted olives, pepperoni roll and a white pizza roll - snacky stuff at the tables. We also have a local reporter coming to hang out with us - he's doing a story on BUNCO - he interviewed myself and 2 other members. He wants to take pictures and get the flavor of the whole social scene!! ;) Pretty funny!!!
Nancy - Do you guys have the head cold stuff or the stomach stuff? Yuck!! Hope you feel better.
Emily - pumping is GAvin related not weight related pumping right?!! ;) Still think this interview is going to come through for you!!!!
Engineer - when is the Dr appt???? Soon? Positive thoughts headed your way!!! :)
Shana - 6 for 6 - you go girl!!! Woo hoo!!! :)
Amanda - how you doing?
Will check in tomorrow!!!

Can I just say that I have had enough of the medical establishment? Grrr! Ok so I'm worrying about those stupid test results for a couple of weeks. I drive 3 hours to Grand Forks and then wait in waiting room for an 1 1/2 before I get into see him. Then it's about an hour of questions and tests and such and he comes back and says that the high rheumatoid factor is due to age and not really relevant (so don't you think the lab should know that so they don't flag it as high!) and that I do have most of the symptoms for fybromyalgia but because I don't have all of them he can only say that I might have it. And even if I do have it - it's not inflammation related and there really isn't anything they can do but Tylenol or Aleve or maybe something stronger if required. I felt like batting him upside the head and saying I'm not stupid, fybromyalgia appears to be a catch all diagnosis that really doesn't mean a darn thing (especially when you do what he did). So it would appear I'm back to square one. But at least it appears that I shall still be mobile for a while yet (Yea for that much).
Last night it was after 8pm when we got home so no workout, and Sunday I had to go into work to get stuff done since I was not going to be in on Monday and Saturday we went to Logging Days (and Wal-Mart) in Bemidji so I didn't do a workout then either. But on Saturday I did walk around for a couple of hours at about 10F with pack boots and insulated coveralls on so that should count for something. Oh and can I say that Wal Mart was just too much - I felt like my personnel space was totally violated I just wanted to yell back off! Ugh - I've been out of circulation for too long.
So tonight I got back to it - I did TLT's Better Body, Better Buns (or is that backwards) for the first time. And for the most part I stuck with the beginner modification and didn't spend alot of time staring at the TV thinking 'what is Tracie talking about now?' so that was good. I bet I feel it tomorrow.
Sorry this go so long, even without personnels - Take care everyone.

<sigh> (((engineer))) I was really hoping that we'd be hearing some wonderful reason from this dr. about what is going on. Crud. I'm so sorry that he was such a putz! I hear you on the wal-mart personal space thing! We can't afford to NOT go there, but I still hate it with a passion... cardinal rule: do NOT go to wal-mart on a Fri/Sat night! I laughed when I read your workout... I spend MOST of the time with videos, kind of moving in place with a big "?" over my head trying to figure out what on earth I'm supposed to be doing!! :)
Amanda, did you do your tape this morning? Totally stinks about the pipes in the new house!! Will it cost very much to fix them? (I have zero knowledge about that kind of thing.)
Charisse, well the "pumping" is Gavin-related pumping, but the fact that I'm still doing it certainly is weight-related! ;) Best cardio program I've ever found, since it burns an extra 500 cals/day!! BUNCO sounds so cool!! If the article is online, do share, okay??
Nancy, did you get your fanny up early and not complain!? ;) Hope you were able to squeeze in a workout this morning... fingers crossed that both DS and DH are feeling better soon!
Yesterday I was able to burn 106 cals in my 15 minutes on the elliptical!! Wahoo! My goal is to keep that number going up... small goals, right? I think I pushed too hard with uppers, because my trapezius (sp?) muscles are REALLY stiff to the point where I can't turn my head to the right. That really stinks when I have to check my "hip" a lot on the drive into work. Ugh. I'm going to do lowers and probably elliptical again today here at work.
I was talking to DH last night about how he would feel a lot better health-wise and self-esteem wise if he were to do some weight lifting. So, he said "why don't we start working out together tomorrow night?" We made the grand decision to turn off the tv (record our must-see tv to watch on the weekend) and get our butts active after DS goes to bed! YAY!
The only news I've heard about the interview: HR told her that they set up an appt. with a local realtor if she wanted to meet with her. She did in fact look at some properties and told the realtor that she hoped that she would be talking to her very soon! That's good, right? If she had no interest whatsoever in the company, why waste your time? She had flown in from MI for the interview and stayed until Sat. night. I'm going to bug HR a little about it today to see if there's anything more they've heard.
Hope the rest of you are doing well... we're halfway through the week already! :)

Hola chicas! No morning workout for me - I'm starting to get the chills and the all-over body ache. Ugh! To answer Charisse, the boy has a double ear infection and RSV and DH has vomitting and diarrhea. No fun to be at our house right now, let me tell ya. Friday is my birthday and had planned to meet up a upscale sushi bar with all of our friends, for sushi and martinis. It's not looking very promising at this point. And to boot, our furnace went out last night and we awoke to a nice 61 degree house. I have a call out, so hopefully it'll be fixed tonight. Otherwise, we'll be staying at my parents' place, since they're out of town. :D
Emily, what a great idea about you and DH. Why don't you swing by and kick my hubby off the couch while you're at it. ;) And that sounds like promising news on the interviewee front. Keeping the fingers crossed!
Engineer - You poor thang - I wish somebody had some solid answers for you. BUT, atleast no one can see serious problems, so there is an upside to the situation. :)
Charisse - You'll be famous :D Your spread sounds delish and I think that is so neat. Do share the article if you can!
Amanda - don't you just love house woes?? Good luck with getting it repaired, esp. cheap!

No official workout today - I was planning on doing uppers but after swiftering and washing all of the downstair's floors, my back said NO WAY!!! I have most everything ready to go - wouldn't you know I washed all of my throw rugs - and one decided to go all to pieces!!! All over my dryer and as I pulled it out all over my laundry room.... argh! So I had to vacuum out my dryer/lint filter/floor and throw out the rug. Went to Kohl's where they are having a Buy1 Get 1 Free sale - so instead of just one rug........ I end up buying 2 rugs, 2 towels, 4 picture frames :D PLUS I had a coupon for an additional 15% off my total order....... I love Kohl's!
((Engineer)) - grrrrrrrr I am so sorry you wasted your time and your hopes!!!! I just don't get Dr's these days. Glad to see you are still moving around and doing workouts - Did you send this cold weather to us - it's been so mild here I am not used to these 30 degree days
((Nancy)) - keep that flu bug away from you!!!! You don't want to be sick on your birthday!!!! Sorry to hear about DS's ear and RSV and DH's sickness. Are you fumigating you house?!!!! Hang in there!!
Emily - yes that is good news that she is checking out real estate - Does she have a family or is she single? Single is good - more likely to move! Good for your DH!! Mine has been lifting since the holidays are over and oh my goodness - he is really getting "buff" dare I say?!!! :p Just needs to work on the belly. Which is why he really wants to do this Ab's Diet (we haven't done it yet) - it's a 6 week thing - wants to start it in March. So I need to read up on the diet part of it!!!
Sweetpea - ugh burst pipes!!! Hope it wasn't too much of a mess - and yes it is cold!!! Good job getting outside to walk!!!!
Gotta run - we'll see how this whole reporter thing goes tonight!!! Now what to wear?......... :D

Did lowers at lunch and then had a meeting over my usual pm workout. Since DH and I are working out together tonight, I feel that it's okay to skip this afternoon.

DH is ecstatic! This is such a big relief for me. I realized that my 2003 car has almost 75,000 miles on it already. That's a very depressing thought! Now I can seriously do some looking at houses! ;) How fun.

First let me say - Emily I am doing my happy dance for you. Just think that long commute will soon be a thing of the past. :D
OK tonight on the Tracie rotation was a challenge day but I don't have time or energy to do two tapes back to back so I did the Vol 4 Time Crunch from pre-GT Firm. I tried to use the low end of the weights they suggested and that was tough. But I will say I used a 6" box for all the step stuff and not the 8" to 10" one they recommend so that was my big consession to my current fitness level. I will do the second tape tomorrow and that is Cardio Sculpt Blaster from BSS1.

I want to workout but need to pack for the trip and do last min errands b/c I work tomorrow before my mom and I go to Baltimore (we fly out at 6am Sat so we need to be down there the night before)
Hugs out to everyone!!! :)

I finished the last half of the Tracie challenge day (oh well so it took me two days   ) It was BSS1's Cardio Sculpt Blaster and I did pretty good. Not as good as I did when i was in my prime but good nonetheless. Next up is the last of the new TLT's and this one is with Susan Harris from pre-GT Volume 1.
Amanda - Hey when do you get to take a breather? Anyway keep up the good work - all that sweating will keep you sane. ;)
Charisse - Wow, what a day you had. It sounds like it went well so congrat's to you. :D
I had the day from he!! today and am totally stressed out. I was being pulled every direction by all these different people. But I told DH we could by a new wagon so we're buying a 8 passenger wagonette from some folks near hear. We'd like to get the buggy but until profit sharing comes around I don't feel comfortable doing it. Oh and I ordered some custom stamps for for my folk's 63rd wedding anniversary....I used the photo from their first anniversary (1943) DF looks so good in his uniform. Is that corny?

Still no working out, but I'm starting fresh on Monday. MIL is supposed to keep DS overnight so hopefully I can sleep in, catch up on my sleep, shake this crud. My goal for being 27 is to focus on my health! 5 day min. workouts and SERIOUSLY incorporate weights into my routine.

Hi guys... Friday at work really stunk. I went in and did elliptical in the am and then lowers at lunch, nothing in the pm. I was SUPER stressed out, and not for any particularly good reason. :( I wish I knew what was going on with me. The last couple of days, I've been a royal b#tch both at work and at home. The littlest things will set me off and I cannot calm myself down! It's like a massive case of PMS (maybe this means AF is going to come back soon?? haven't had a visit since before I got PG)... It's absolutely terrible. I've been so upset, I'm slamming my fists into the carpet (downstairs, where it's over cement = ouch!), biting the insides of my cheeks until I can't stand it, and wishing I could smash something. <sigh> Just needed to vent a little bit... DH is taking over daddy duty for a little while so I can go take a long, hot shower to try to "get away" from everything. Let's hope that helps.
I did 20 minutes of Core Foundations to try to relieve some stress (didn't work). Holy cannoli! That's a killer workout and had me flopping like a fish! At least I finally did a video, eh? Oh yes, and it was my breaking in of the downstairs... note to self: the drop-tile ceiling is a little lower than expected, so when holding the exercise ball overhead, use caution!! Off to take my shower now...
Nancy, I meant to wish you a happy birthday yesterday... I'm sorry I missed the opportunity. I hope you got a ton of sleep last night and are feeling better this morning.
engineer, I'm not sure what exercise you're talking about, but I imagine it's one that would have had me falling to the floor. I really stink at ball-work (wow, that sounds pretty interesting taken out of context). I think the stamp idea is awesome! My parents got us personalized stamps for Christmas - very cool!! I think they'll be trilled at the thought you've put into it!
Hope you all are having a good weekend... stay safe in this weird weather!!

still here, got to post my workout: yesterday Super Cardio Sculpt--mainly cardio but i added some weight work--didn't get it started till 8 p.m. (so many things to choose for a new house--carpet, flooring, ugh, so many choices!)
today i did part of a cathe step workout (name is escaping me)..i was doing fine till i couldn't get a sequence and kept rewinding and still couldn't get it, so i gave up and ff thru it. then the entire next segment i was unable to grasp so after almost 40 min .of actual workout time i called it quits. i was totally irritated with cathe and me :) oh well, maybe next time!
emily-congrats! and i have the same type of PMS :) add to it the stress of the remodel and i am TOO FUN!
nancy--happy belated bday :) emma and i have the snotty nose/sore throat (well at least i do, not sure if she does!)--so fun to share it all with someone!
charisse--glad bunco was a success...you'll have to scan in a copy of the article unless it is online?
engineer-yay on the new wagon and i love those stamps--just saw somethign for them in a magazine just the other day! what a great idea...i must be corny too :)
