I wanted to post a review of the recipes we had last night. All were good enough to do again. We had:
Beef Brisket in Beer from CL Complete...easy, good flavor, great gravy,
Orange Glazed Carrots from Cl 11/99...easy and good,
Mashed Potato Casserole-CL Complete...Very good,
Tomatos with Chili-Cilantro Vinaigrette anothe CL Complete, using tomatoes from my garden...yummy.

Terry,
I've made both the brisket and the carrot recipes and agree both are good enough to repeat.
Thanks for the reviews, Terry. I'm envious. I won't have any ripe tomatoes in Massachusetts until late July! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/frown.gif

Terry,
I'm reading the recipe for the tomatoes...did you put the vinaigrette on the tomatoes while it was still hot? Did it make the tomatoes mushie?
And BTW how could you have tomatoes already? I have been watching the first one that showed up for weeks now and NO sign of it turning red!
Sneezles, I'm not Terry, but we have tomatoes. Made a fresh salsa to go with some quesadillas we made after reading a thread here earlier. I had some shrimp left over from that curried lentil salad. It was all so yummy I forgot to try the pepper jelly on them! :0
We planted out tomatoes later than the last couple of years, but are just getting the first ones in this past week. DH says he thinks they are the early girl and the romas, but its too wet to want to go out an check.

Beth,
My lonely tomato plant is a container plant but one that has full-size tomatoes. That little tag that came with it said 75 days and I know it's been longer than that! It is however, loaded with tomatoes!
Are you in Houston and getting all that rain from Allison? If we hadn't turned on the 10 o'clock news on Tuesday, we'd have never known about the storm!
We're about 100 NW of Houston and have barely had a drop of rain in the past three days!!!

So, Kim, how did you spend your free day?
I was at Central Market on Wednesday!

I let it cool some but it was still warm when I poured it over the tomatoes. The tomatoes were very ripe, so they were already sort of mushy. I will cool the vinaigrette next time and let it marinate in the refrigerator longer. But they were good the way they were.
