Hi everyone,

I am looking for the blood orange sangria recipe from CL dec 2004.
I used the advanced search and got some posts from Dec that reviewed it but no recipe is posted.

Thanks so much.

Sue

Blood Orange Sangrķa
From Cooking Light - Dec 2004

2 cups sliced strawberries
2 cups apple juice
2/3 cup Triple Sec (orange-flavored liqueur)
1/2 cup sugar
4 whole cloves
3 seedless blood oranges, each cut into 16 wedges
2 (750-milliliter) bottles fruity red wine
2 (3-inch) cinnamon sticks
1 lemon, cut into 8 wedges
1 lime, cut into 8 wedges

Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher, and stir until sugar dissolves. Cover and chill 8 hours or overnight. Discard cloves and cinnamon sticks. Pour sangrķa into individual glasses, including the fruit.

A girl from our cooking club made this for our Spanish themed dinner 2 weeks ago and it was awesome!!! It was great warm as well as when we cooled it down with ice cubes! Hope youenjoy it :D

"Hottie Sangria"
1 large bottle sangria wine
1 bottle of white wine (I used chardonnay)
1 cup brandy
1 cup simple sugar* (I used closer to 1 and 1/2 cups)
Frozen peaches, frozen cherries, fresh oranges, peeled and seeds romoved
~put all of the above in a crockpot and let simmer

*to make simple sugar, boil equal parts sugar and water till sugar is dissolved

Sue let me know how that sangria turns out, I've been eyeing that recipe for a while now but have been making a similar one from CL, Winter Spiced Red Sangria. Its sooo yummy!

A little off your topic, but I love a good white wine sangria....

1 cup brandy
1 cup cointreau
1 cup sugar
1 orange, sliced
1 lime, sliced
1 lemon sliced

combine and "marinate overnight"

Mix with 4 bottles of a dry white wine and 1 liter of gingerale.

Be careful - it'll hit you when you stand up!
