View Full Version : half.com
I have read a # of posts on the bb where someone has bought books from half.com. I was thinking about buying a couple of books from there, (they are so much cheaper than Amazon, and I am not too worried if they slightly used). Can anyone provide feedback?
TIA
I've probably bought about 10-12 books there now, and have been happy with all the ones I received. Everything came promptly and in good shape. The only problem we had was receiving the wrong book where only one was available. The seller confirmed the correct book, so this was just a goof in getting us the wrong book in the worng envelope. I've never heard of anyone having that problem.
We disputed the charge on the credit card, but paid the postage to send it back. We have yet to get a refund on the postage. Next time, I would contact the seller who goofed and tell them I would be glad to return the book if they would send me the postage first. That said, I think you can order with confidence.

There was a similar thread recently here that might help you: http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/Forum1/HTML/007832.html
I've only sold on half.com, never bought but I've only had good experiences as a seller and I try to be very conscious to send the right thing and to send it quickly.

I've bought and sold on Half.com, and so far I'm impressed. In fact, I bought an item three days ago and it was in my mailbox today! Not sure how they pulled that off, but the seller was on the ball. Half.com prides itself on quick shipments. When I sell I have a short time to confirm that I'll send the order out, then once confirmed I have to send it out the next business day.
I know there are mixed feelings on this board about auctions, but I always check Ebay first. If it's not available there I go to Half.com. Usually the prices are cheaper, and because I pay with PayPal when they accept it, I don't have to worry about going down to get a money order and mailing it off to the seller. I can win an auction right now, pay for it an hour from now, and the seller can ship it out the very next day if he has it ready. I've bought nearly all my CL Annuals on Ebay and always been happy with the books. I recommend both! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif
Thank you for the feedback ...and Peeps...thanks for the thread (I didn't think to search half.com to see what would come up.)
Thanks for your help !
