I have a beautiful herb garden outside...going to waste! I don't know what to do with my Savory, French Tarragon, Sage, Sweet Marjoram, etc. (I regularly use my Basil and Parsley, though) I love them so much, and I can't stand to not make good use of them. So, how about it, folks?

If you aren't using them for cooking now you could dry them, freeze them, grind them up, label and store until needed. If they are herbs you have never cooked with or tried before-give them a try in some recipes. CL has recipes using different fresh herbs in salads, marinades, and soups..... I can't find the thread I am looking for to point you to http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/redface.gif! Hopefully, somebody will come to the rescue! Jennifer,

I just posted some guidelines for freezing herbs under the Freezing Pre-Prepared Ingredients thread. This may be helpful for you...

Now that you have your herbn garden its the time for research. Do a search for recipes using thise herbs. Also try www.burpee.com (http://www.burpee.com) under herbs click on the herb picture and there you will find recipes for sage, margoram, oregano, chives etc. You can do herb vinegars and share with friends. Add herbs to beer bread or to your breadmakeing.
Herbs enhance casseroles, fish, etc. You can make herbal butter roll in plastic wrap and freeze allowing you to use on grilled meats or fish..... Make a basket with different herbs and give it as a gift to friends. And when you have enjoyed them all then driy your herbs....
You can use peppermint in ice tea, sage in stuffings, breads even cookies, tarragon with fish, dill with fish, oregano in your homemade tomato sauce, cilantro in your fresh salsa, chives in corn bread, dips etc, even your potato salad. I have an abundance of sage but mostly I like how beautiful it looks on my garden (the yellow variated and green together).

I like to add snipped herbs to scrambled eggs or omelettes. Makes them taste sophisticated.
