luv2cook and I were having BB withdrawals on a Friday night, just like at home, and wanted to check in with y'all.

The people: As nice and wonderful as you think everyone is on the BB, they are all that nice and wonderful in person. We are having a great time. Like meeting up with old friends.

CL Staff: Fun, energetic, extraordinarily bright and thoughtful group of people. They went to great lengths to make us feel welcome and show us what it takes to put a national magazine on the newsstands.

The food: Oh, my! We taste-tested five potential candidates and rated them and also tasted some previously published favorites. All delicious. Finally tried the Lemon-Swirled Cheesecake without having to make it! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/tongue.gif

The building: What a great place to work! Beautiful architecture, artwork and landscaping. Actually, the artwork is truly stunning.

We must sign off now as we have another full day tomorrow. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif

Having a great time. Wish you were here.

I'm not jealous at all! I'm perfectly happy to sit here at my computer while my 3 year old pees on the living room rug like she has no clue what is going on http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/mad.gif . Why in the world would I want to be doing anything else? http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif

Have lots of fun, because I will be having my fun this weekend vicariously through you!

Jealous! Jealous! Jealous!! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/mad.gif I had a job offer in Birmingham about 10 years ago, why didn't I take it?? Why-Why-Why???

Oh well, one of these days Browneye, KValley, Aggie94 and all the other Pacific NW folk will be able to tease the heck out of YOU all when they come to our area. (sigh) I just hope it's soon! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

Same here, except its two boys who are stir crazy from the excitement of the flooding and being cooped up in the house by the rain. And dropping watermelon seeds all over the kitchen floor, etc.

Kim: consider it done. You are so lucky to live in the same city as such a cool person.

Our hike was canceled by torrential downpours to the east, so we were on our own after yoga class. Mary Kay Culpepper (CL editor) and her husband joined us for yoga. Lovely people.

We walked, we saw, we ate. And we ate. The CL dinner is approaching way too fast.

Hasta la vista. Will provide a full report on dinner.
