Back from frigid Florida!
What did I miss??? :D
Wanna hear a funny story? Those of you who've heard me talk about my youngest ds will love this one.
Yesterday after a long day in a few airports we were all boarding the flight for the final leg home. Passengers stacked up in the jetway waiting to board, and dh, the boys, and I were stuck right in the middle. Everyone was just gabbing, relaxing, jittering - it was about 10:45 p.m. We're all tired. Out of the blue Robbie says (in his loudest voice) "Dad. What is a wet t-shirt contest?".
Silence.
Complete silence. From the approximately 50 people surrounding us. Heads immediately swivel to us, then down to our offending blabbermouth, who is looking expectantly up at his befuddled dad for an answer. Then the laughter started - everyone started cracking up. I had to quietly explain to Rob just what he'd done, at which point he totally blushed and ducked his head. One guy next to us said "where DID you take him for vacation?"
Oy, that boy!
tee hee
We had a great trip - very cold though. Nice to be home, if only to begin doing laundry and watch the freezing rain fall. I'll bet the Florida residents are happy that I left and took the crummy weather with me!

How hilarious! Gotta love that Robbie!
Sorry about your bad weather. I may be heading to your neck of the woods (family in Jenison) in summer, hopefully I can meet you (and maybe Robbie) in better weather.
It reminds me of the time that I asked my dad what a hooker was. He told me that bars would hire ladies to sit at the bar so lonely men would have someone to talk to and to encourage the men to drink more, while the ladies drank tea. Not as funny and not in public, ;) but Dad sure could think on his feet and was creative.

What did I miss?
You were away? ;)
Not much really. The big news, kind of right up there with Paula Abdul schtooping an American Idol contestant, is that Escher has assumed the role of Cher and has announced his first farewell tour.

Wendy, if you are "in town" this summer, hopefully we'll be able to get some of us together! I'd love to see you.

Debie,
That was a funny story!!!!! In New Orleans last year my kids learned what a G-String is and let a few nice folks know  Gotta love those kiddos!
Where were you in Florida???? Here in the Panhandle it was COLD (20's at night) early this week and today it was in the 70's! Warm and beautiful!!!! I am sorry the weather was not good for you but I am glad you had a good time!
Welcome back :)

No--not glad you left (we like visitors)! But glad the crummy weather is gone. Forecasters say we are expecting mostly 80 for the next week (central Florida)....wanna come back & play?
Next time pack a laptop so you can keep on posting!
Enjoyed the blushing end to a funny story (I mean, isn't it great to sometimes render a DS speechless with embarrassment? ;) )

Welcome home, Deb!
Don't worry. When Ms. Wendy gets into town this summer, I'm gonna have a big klatch in her honor. :D

That is really funny! Reminds me of my one foray into a wet T-shirt contest in my misspent youth. My DH and I used to attend an annual sailing party on a Delta island. It was held on a weekend nearest the full moon so as to elicit the most bizarre behavior possible. When I told folks I was planning to enter the wet T-shirt contest, naturally they later asked about it. My face was plenty red explaining that I WON!

Awww. Sandy. :)
Congratulations Kay! :D
I once was asked by a bar owner in my own misspent youth (many, many moons ago) to participate in one. I declined, but my friend's DH danced in a wet white boxer contest, mainly because my friend and I plied him with adult beverages. We still tease him about it on occasion.

Hey! Where have you been???? Hi!!!!!
Hi Debie,
I've been "quietly around" - lurking in other words. I usually don't get on until later in the evening and by that time, everything that I might say has already been said.
