All the ladies (did any guys go?) are prepping for, or have left for, the CL trip - and here I sit, feeling like the one never picked for the kickball team..........
I do hope they had fun, but dang it, I'm going to make the next one!!!

http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif Comeon girls, let's not sit around feeling sorry for ourselves!
I'm sure they'll have a grand time on their trip... but maybe we can perk things up around here while they're gone.

When I lived in central California I was used to the fun stuff never making it my way. What major tour ever made it to Dustbowl, California on purpose? If they showed up, it only meant they'd made a wrong turn on the way to San Francisco!
But here I am living in the (ahem) Major City of Seattle and I STILL have to stick my bottom lip out 'cause the fun stuff is passing me by. Can we all pout together? I still say we need to make our OWN CL Tour in Las Vegas! Group rate at the Luxor?? http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

Hey Jewel, maybe we'll have to have our own Seattle party. How about dress like Hendrix and go bar hopping in Pioneer Square?

Jewel & Browneye,
What great ideas!!! Count me in!! Being in So Cal, it would be much easier (and less $)for me to make it to either Vegas or Seattle than it was for B'ham. Have not been to Vegas since the Dunes was still standing http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/redface.gif.
Mamasue, to answer your question, the Luxor is one a hotel that has an Egyptian theme and is pyramid shaped.

We haven't all left yet. I am still at work. SO and I are planning on driving out this afternoon and the Thunderstorms are supposed to be coming at us the whole way. Also it's supposed to be yucky tomorrow as well. So, both Luv2Cook and I will have some whiny men on our hands to deal with because they were supposed to play golf tomorrow. Anyway, you ladies keep things going on this end and we'll talk on Monday.

Mamasue, you forgot to remind her about her galoshes! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif If we do a Vegas trip, it's a date! Take care iqueen, and if the men get too whiny, you may need to sedate them at the happy hour.

Well, I'm not going to sit around the house feeling sorry for myself. I'm going to go out and do some shopping for stuff to go with my new sofa http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif . See you all in a little while! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif Chrisi
I'm sooo jealous they're down there now! I think a good portion of the PA people on the board made the trip, too. Aaargh!! If they have another one next year, I am there, no matter what!
Well, I for one am sorry to miss it, but glad I stayed home. With the weather we are having, I wouldn't have enjoyed being away and worrying. I'll be glad to try another time, but this mom needed to be home this week.
