Any recent elliptical purchases?

We are currently looking to buy another Elliptical machine as our current Nordic Track (close to 4 years old..) seems to be on its last legs. I don't think we are all that willing to pay up to the $5k for the "commerical" club quality ones, but we don't want something cheap/flimsy. I'd be more comfortable spending around $1,000 or 2 - has anyone had any recent experiences buying one or have any information to offer?

Yep, we JUST purchased a "Horizon Fitness" elliptical. It's not even out of the box yet, so I can't give you a testimonial from experience. I can tell you that I researched brands, and did take it for a test drive, so to speak at the Sports Authority. I liked the way it operated, and it's range of motion worked for me (5'3") as well as DH (6'2").

Horizon Fitness is highly rated and comes with one of the best warranties around. I can tell you better in a few months how it holds up under use!
