Again, I want to thank each of you for your responses to the threads about my mom. I started doing my research, today.
Not what I was looking for, but right off the bat, I found a program that will pay my MIL 500.00 because she cared for her DD for at least 6 months of the last year. First, SIL had foot surgery, got a staph infection that made her very ill (she is still on antibiotics), then they found breat cancer...it has just been one thing after the other. But, MIL has been taking care of her diligently since February a year ago.
As far as I can tell MIL qualifies in all areas! This money will be so welcomed to someone living on a fixed income.
For anyone living in the state of Virginia...if you know someone who has been providing care for someone the website is: http://www.dss.virginia.gov/family/as/caregiver.cgi
