Rob and I saw this tonight, and I thought it was hilarious. I do love Steve Martin, and he's great in this. It was much better than I thought it would be. I will admit that I didn't really like the original. :o It isn't all slapstick comedy, which I thought the original had way too much of. IMHO.
I'm not sure who the demographic for this movie is supposed to be. The previews were for a new A Land Before Time and a new Cartoon Network program for the tween set. I would have thought it would have been marketed towards those that grew up watching the Pink Panther animated series and had seen the original movies. The Pink Panther movie definitely is a bit more mature than the tween set. Rob and I were the youngest people in the theatre.

We took the kids on Monday, and we were all cracking up. The kids are still doing some imitations of different parts of the movie.

I really appreciate this post! I have been thinking that I would like to see this movie, as I just love Steve Martin. You all helped me with that decision!

we took the kids to see this last weekend and we all loved it. I think you do need to be a Steve Martin fan. It was also nice to see that French guy play a comic role, though his was straight man.......
I know the reviews weren't that kind but I thought it was very Dirty Rotten Scoundrels with more of a spoofy feel.

My mom just took my DS (11) to the 11:05 show this morning. My mom was reluctant to go so it was good to hear that you liked this. I can't wait to hear her "review" when she gets home.

I love Steve Martin, but also loved Peter Sellers in the role. Am looking forward to seeing the movie.

The movie isn't going to win any Oscars, but it was funny!
After looking at horses all day, I needed a laugh! (Not that I don't like horses, but what was supposed to be an hour out, turned out to be an entire day spent.) But, we both enjoyed the movie!

My boss raved about the movie as well. I wasn't sure if she was in her right mind if she liked this since I had heard it didn't get good reviews. But now that the real critics--the BB crowd knows best!-I'll see it soon.

Oh, I forgot to report back yesterday. Both my mom (61) and DS (11) really enjoyed the movie. DS more so than my mom, but my mom thought it was pretty good. My DS told me that his grandma was "laughing too much." She said it was a perfect role for Steve Martin--suited his style of humor.
