I just mixed up this bread and it is rising. I thought it seemed awfully dry...it called to mix in 3 cups of flour and then add more by the tablespoonful to make it not sticky. I only added the 3 cups of flour and then I had to add water to it as I was kneading it because it seemed dry. I did do one thing different...I used buttermilk instead of skim milk because I had some that needed to be used up. Would that explain why it was so dry? Just wondering. I normally use my stand mixer to do bread, but since this seemed like such a simple recipe, I thought I would try it by hand. I'll let you know how it turns out after it is baked, but I was curious if anyone else had tried making it.
