Well, no big surprises, really, but I was a little disappointed to see Sway go so early. Even Simon indicated that he thought it would be Sway, but NOT based on vocals. I enjoyed his singing, especially because it was different from the others as well as good.

I thought the judges were inappropriate and thoughtless to be cracking jokes while the contestants were waiting to hear their decision. I am always anxious to see who is going and who is staying, but I really hate the way the Thursday night shows are done!

I hate Thursdays so much I read the results here instead. So which four are gone?

In case people TIVO'd the show and haven't had a chance to watch it, I'm posting the names of those who were eliminated below, in white. Just highlight it if you want to see it.

Brenna, Heather, David and Sway.

Thanks!

What a great idea, posting in white. I never thought of that, nor have I seen anyone else do it. Kewl! :D

The four that were voted off were exactly the four I thought would leave. They just weren't good enough to make it to the final 12, IMHO.

SandyM - I never would have thought about the white words. I thought you were being sarcastic until I highlighted the area and saw the names. :o

Well, hopefully since I titled the thread as "results", people who don't want to know won't look at it before they are ready. It is cool, though, to see how the white post thing works! :D

I realize it isn't all about the singing, but I am surprised Kevin is still in it. According to my family, Kevin, maybe Will, Kinnik and Melissa will be the next to go. We were ALL happy to say goodby to Brenna. Even the kids were put off by her constant posing for the camera.

I can't take the credit for the typing-in-white thing. I saw someone else do it before (I can't remember who - sorry) and thought it was a great idea. :)

Although he's not good enough to win the competition, I dind't think it was David's time to go yet ... there are a few others that should have gone before him. That said, it was DEFINITELY time for Brenna - geesh.

In the men, I like Taylor, Ace, Chris and Bucky. Women, Lisa, Mandisa, Kellie and Paris. It's going to be tough as it gets closer...

I disagree. I thought David should have gone last week. I don't feel that he has any personality when he sings....he's just a bad impersonator. I'm also upset that Sway went before Kevin. Kevin was awful this past week. As for the girls...the right ones went home.

No surprises for us either. I liked David as well, although he was clearly never going to win. I think this is where it's irritating to me that they have to eliminate by gender. There were women more deserving to leave, IMO.

We were thrilled that Brenna was let go first - DH and I both said we didn't care what happened next as long as she was one of the four. And she got MORE annoying with every word out of her mouth and pose. Oy!

I also thought the judges were insensitive. But the elimination process didn't seem as insensitive/manipulative to me in general as it did last week.

Paula was definitely on something.

My 15 year old said the same thing. He looked at me when she was laughing and trying to say whatever she thought Simon told her and said, "She acts like she's drunk!"

That's my point. Neither of them are good enough to make it till the end (though they have decent voices), but I think Kevin is worse out of the two, and would have sent him home first, but he has the "cheek pinching" thing going for him.

As for Paula ... yeah, she was pretty bad.

I totally agree! DH watched the show w/me and he said, "Is she drunk?"

This happens at least once per season. I didn't watch last night, but there was a show last season in which she was slurring her words and her eyes weren't open all the way. She always passes it off as medication for chronic pain, and maybe it is.

I'm not sayin' it is, and I'm not sayin' it ain't, but it seems to me that chronic pain would call for medication on a regular basis....not just once a season. Last night she was downright loopy!

I'm glad others thought Paula was off her rocker last night... she was so off and, IMO, quite inappropriate. Whatever it was, you'd think she could wait an hour!

We had the same conversation at my house! She was TOTALLY on something. Maybe pain meds AND a couple of beers?

The same comment about Paula was made in our household. I am glad that Ryan commented to them how inappropriate they were being and totally disrespectful. It is just a shame that he had to tell them twice

What was UP with the "one of them had pizza and one of them had salad" comment? This is my first season watching AI (I know, I know, pick yourself off the floor I never saw it before) and I thought I was missing an inside joke. She definitely was loopy.
