I'm not very familiar w/MasterCook, though I'm getting more curious given all the references to it on these BBs!
However, I do know that it has a drop & drag feature to import recipes found elsewhere. I suspect it's somewhat similar to the following instructions I use to copy & paste recipes from the Net to a more printer-friendly program (i.e. Word or WordPad).
Here goes: Highlight the text of interest (the recipe) by clicking & dragging. Then select Edit/Copy from the toolbar. Bring up the window for Word or WordPad (or even MasterCook?). From THAT toolbar, click Edit/Paste. That should do it. Good luck.

I have pasted from a previous post some instructions that I haven't tried from have filed for future reference. Here they are:
"I've used MC for years and have imported hundreds of recipes into my "Recipes to Try" Cookbook. I find the @@@@@ method to be the easiest and fastest for importing a single recipe at a time. Here it is:
1. In Mastercook, open anywhere in the recipe book you wish to import to.
2. On the Internet, highlight the recipe you want to import into MC.
3. Right click, then left click on Copy.
4. In MC, left click on Tools, and then Import Assistant (in very top toolbar on your screen).
5. In the upper left-hand corner of the Import Asst. box, type @@@@@ and hit your Return key.
6. Hit Control V on your keyboard (this is a shortcut to paste into the Import Asst. box the recipe that you copied from the Internet ).
7. Now clean up your recipe. Make sure there is a completely blank line in between the recipe title and the first ingredient and also between the last ingredient and the beginning of the directions. If you have multiple paragraphs in your directions, place your cursor in the blank line between each paragraph and hit your space bar a few times so MC knows it all goes together. Also, if there is any text between your recipe title and the first ingredient that you want to include in your recipe, cut and paste it to the end of your recipe.
8. Now, right click anywhere in the Import Asst box and choose Select All. Notice that the Auto-fill button lights up.
9. Left click on Auto-fill and watch your recipe appear in your cookbook.
I hope this helps anyone who may be just learning. Let me know if you have any questions."
As I said I cut and paste this -- I am proficient at ctrl-v and ctrl-c and will give this a try too.

Sometimes when you are working between two different software applications, the tool bar copying and pasting will not work. In that case you can try using...
Ctrl C to copy
Ctrl V to paste
