I just went to see a matinee of She's the Man :o :D It was very girlie and very sweet and totally predictable. Amanda Byrnes is pretty two dimensional, however she's just so cute that you just kind of get over it.
I thought it was worth the matinee price :)

Alright, I confess, sounds like my kinda movie. ;)
I took Sara to see that last weekend. I have to admit that I LOL at many parts of it, and I had gone in expecting to be rolling my eyes the whole time. ;) I like Amanda Bynes, though - she's healthy looking, very natural looking, not surgically enhanced, etc., so I don't mind that DD likes her so much.

Sometimes you have to just go see a movie that has no social redeeming values, no deep message, nothing that makes you think. Just good mindless fun.
Glad you enjoyed it.
My guilty movie pleasures these days are zombie movies. Pure entertainment, lots of laughs too. No deep hidden messages. :D

I thought this movie was a modern day take on a shakespearean piece.. Twelfth Night??
PS. I love brain candy movies. On video. So I can curl up under my blanket with some hot chocolate & popcorn.

I saw this when it came out last Friday with my girls, and I really liked it. Predictable, yes, but I laughed out loud at quite a few scenes and will probably buy it when the DVD comes out. I am a sucker for this kind of movie :D

I just watched "In Your Shoes." Is that the right names? With Cameron Diaz and Shirley Maclaine. Anyway, it tuned out to be deeper than I thought. :D It was really good! JeAnne, you would love the shoes in this film! :D

actually that was a pretty deep movie :D I enjoyed it as it was good enough to distract me from screaming baby on airplane (inflight entertainment from the uk) :) And the shoes were fabulous!
I really think I have a problem with shoes...I always want more :o

greysangel - Forgive me if I've gotten this wrong but I think I remember that you (like me) thought the casting was off (after reading the book) in this movie. After seeing it, what did you think? I keep thinking the casting is so different than I would have thought that I haven't watched it.

yeah it was me. I guess enough time passed by for me between reading the book and seeing the movie that it wasn't so jarring. But I still think the choices for the two sisters were a little weird...Carmen Diaz was ok, but I dunno I pictured someone else entirely for the "responsible" one.

Finally watched In Her Shoes last night; thought it was a good movie, although it seemed a little long.

Have to admit that while I love these sort of movies, the ads for She's the one really turned me off to it...I tend to get my girlie fix from ABC Family these days! Saw an ad last night for a new one with Lacey Chambert that looks fun.
