When I read the the title of the post about Jewel's grapes dying, I thought she meant in her garden. Just today my Greek neighbor and I made dolmades, and as I sit here, they gently simmer on the stove. I can hardly wait to try them. My neighbor and I plan to grow grapes next year so that we can use our own grape leaves. If anyone is interested in my neighbor's true Greek recipe, I will post it. If anyone has experience growing grapes, please let me know, we are just interested in the leaves-OH MY! Maybe, a little wine...for the wine of the week...

SusanL,

You're making me very jealous. Simmering on the stove at this moment. My mouth is watering.

One of my neighbors grow leaves and I love to collect some of his leaves for table centerpieces and placecards.

I would love your recipe, please let me know
how long the actual preparation is? Thanks

A sneak preview of the July issue (I just received mine): the Cooking Class is Greek this month and there is a recipe for Dolmades. But Susan, please do post yours!

My DH spent a year working on a vineyard near Cognac, France. His dream is to have his own someday...keep us posted on your progress!

Salud,

Julie

I'm so excited- I could live on Greek food (my father is Syrian so I might just have that whole middle eastern thing in my blood). I'll be on the lookout!!
