OK, so I am planning the Guiness cropck pot corned beef for today and I get everything ready to go and rech for my crockpot and it is gone

My wonderful DH has taken some lofetover beans from Friday night potluck in the crodkpot to the neightobrs to eat yesterday (they were having a work party). Anyway, I have left a msg on their recorder and I amsure they will be home in a couple of hours.
Here is my dilema, I need to start his now if we are going to eat it today. I am thinking I can start it in the oven, then xfer it to the crock pot but what should I start it at im the over?? I was thinking at out 275,???

And what if they don't get home :o can I continue to cook it in the oven??

You will probably have to increase the liquids to finish in the oven...by about a third I think.

I have a crock pot book that lists the cooking temps at various times -- it might be helpful in that the final temp might be what you want the oven at, but I don't know how you'd gauge the time...

Temperature and Time

Time Low High
1/2 hour 108 150
3/4 hour 124 168
1 hour 135 183
1 hours 154 250
2 hours 168 300
2 hours 183 315
3 hours 200 319
3 hours 208 330
4 hours 212 333
5 hours 212 333
6 hours 212 335
7 hours 212 340
8 hours 212 340

Don't cook food covered with liquid on High once the temperature hits 212 or it will be boiled.
