Could you give me some insight on what you need to do to get started? I know a lot about the travel business, just not that side of it. I'm making a major work-related change in July and lining up my ducks, so to speak. ;) TIA!

I am not one but my Mom owned her own travel angency for 25+ years. Feel free to PM me with specific questions. I CAN tell you it is very, very hard to make money being a travel agent. I think the real successful ones have lots of corporate accounts and lots of clients.

I'll PM you. I have a pretty sizeable corporate client ready to start if I can get it together. ;)

and i had just written a lengthy reply suggesting that you go into RE sales, esp. since the commission on a $300K home is typically 6% and easy to earn in today's market...

my computer had other ideas, and so do you. however, Mindy, i do see you as someone who would do well in RE. you're very aggressive, and the course to getting a broker's licence must be easy, since i know some simpletons who have aced it, and who are doing well on a part-time basis here.

Gotta love computers, eh? Thanks for your reply. My parents flip houses in their spare time and my mom has her real estate license (though doesn't practice, only uses it now for the flips), and the thought has definitely crossed my mind more than once. My problem is now that there's too many different directions to go in, and the idea is to scale back a bit, not go crazier. ;) Decisions, decisions... :D

P.S. You're the first to qualify me as "very aggressive" - I hope that's a good thing. ;)
