Does anyone have one of these grills? I bought one about a month ago and I think I'm afraid to make anything besides black bean burgers on it! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
I was going to make hamburgers tonight. Do I just put them on there? DOes anyone have any other ideas of things that I can cook on this grill?

Anything. ;-)
I've made burgers, chicken breasts, veggies (mushrooms and squash), salmon salmon salmon. ;-)
The burgers were incredibly easy!! Look in the guide for the time required. I think my guide gives a total number of minutes...I sort of half it in two and then turn them at the appropriate time.
Chicken is the only thing that seems to want to dry out. I use a themometer and check it at the lowest number of minutes. I've gotten better with it.
Hey..it may not be the most wonderful kitchen tool, but for a fast meal? It can't be beat!!!!
Hint: Clean it when it's still warm!!!! Once the black stuff cools down, mine is really tough to clean.

Does anyone else have one of these and have an opinion about them? I've been thinking of getting one, but it's a lot of money to spend on something I'm not sure about ( I would want a large one). I was thinking it would be nice because we have so much of the year when we can't grill outside. I have a grill pan, but I don't like when it splatters.

We have a George Foreman grill and it's great! We have the small personal size one but I'm sure the large one would work just as well. WE have cooked lots of different things on it and it is very easy and fast.

I love my GFG!!! I think that the absolute best things to cook on it are veggies- I love to grill eggplant, onions, peppers and asparagus. I have also had lots of luck with shrimp and with chicken. I find that the foreman cooks these things to perfection without drying them out as much as an outdoor grill. It is also soo fast! To do the veggies, i just salt and pepper them and then let them naturally caramelize. It is fantastic.

I found a Hamilton Beach Grill on Amazon...regular $70 now $30 if anyone else is interested in these. The shipping is $13, but if you order $99 of kitchen stuff, shipping is free.

I love my GFG. It is great for fish, chicken, veggies. There is an article in the July Bon Appetit about grills. The article says that the GFG really steams food instead of grilling it, but I love it any way.

I love my George Foreman. I do fajitas on it, hamburgers, steak, chicken(without bones as it doesn't seem to cook it evenly), fish, griled asparagus(turns out amazing), shrimp, bacon(I know it is bad for you, BUT once in a blue moon, I get a craving; and no grease splatters-but you do have to turn them over to the other side!) We basically use it for anything. It is very fast and so easy to clean as long as you clean it while it is still hot. Takes minutes.

W e have the medium sized George Foreman Grill, and we really like it for winter-time grilling of salmon and veggies. Our salmon has always turned out great on it. You just have to watch it and keep track of the time.
My DH has done steak on it with not as successful results.

Lara and Blue Moose- if you do a search, there are many threads on the GFG. I have probably posted on every one!! My DH and I commuted 2 hours a day (at least)and my grill lived on my counter top.(Now that we are just 10 minutes from work, I don't use it as often, but when time is short, I do!!) If you do a search I think that you will find many recommendations for the grill.
someone gave us the large foreman grill when we were living in an apartment and couldn't have a 'real' grill. we used it all the time to make burgers, chicken, quesadillas, etc. we even grilled lamb chops once and they turned out pretty well. i agree that chicken can dry out if you're not careful. most everything tastes better on a real grill, but the foreman works well if you can't grill outside year-round. we tried several indoor grills and liked this the best, mostly because it doesn't splatter and things cook quickly.

Well, we made black bean burgers on it and I tested some squash. Cooked perfectly. I am going to try chicken on it tomorrow. A couple of you said you turn the burgers/bacon. Why? The manual says you don't have to do that. My stuff was cooked on both sides...
