Had a couple laughs today...Last night while the kids were sleeping we switched them to the other one's bed. Each daughter woke up in her sister's room! Of course they think we should do this every night. :p I must admit I was surprised it worked. This morning I rigged the sprayer at the kitchen sink with a rubber band. I asked DD #1 (age 7) to fill up a pitcher with water to make lemonade. When she turned on the faucet she got a face full of spray (she was the perfect height for this). But the real joke was on me...quite a lot of water on the floor/counter/cabinet for me to clean up. The girls are anxiously waiting for Daddy to get home from work so they can ask him to make lemonade! By the way, I found both of these ideas on the Family Fun website.

Any more April Fool's jokes going on out there?

DD is only 4 so she doesn't fully understand April Fool's Day, but she know's a little. So, this morning, she comes in my room, crawls in my bed with me and says "You're not really my mommy." (I am horrified since her Dad and GF just had a baby last week and I'm thinking she thinks that her Dad's GF is her mommy now). Then she starts smiling and says "April Fool's!"

Kind of funny for 4.

I really like that you moved your kids in their sleep - that was a good one!

I haven't had an inspiration yet, but the day isn't over.

Around here, if anyone pulls an April Fool's joke after 12pm, they are the ones considered the fool. :D

This morning DD (5 yrs) comes up to me points at my head and says "Ah! There's a bug on your head!!"

Of course I played along. It was too cute. She hasn't done anything else though...

Thanks for the smiles. A day like today, and Christmas and Easter, makes you really miss the little ones running around. I'm usually able to have fun on the bus, but when it's on a Saturday....it's just different.

Thanks again, for sharing and for making me really laugh!

My Mom called me this Morning to let me know that she just canceled the plane tickets for their upcoming trip to Chicago in two weeks. "We just don't feel like coming to Chicago. We rather spent our Spring Vacation in Italy like every year"

Yes, I did buy it and called my Husband, almost sobbing that Mom and Dad are not coming to visit us. Dear Hubby told me to have a look at the calender and call back my folks :o

Thank God they are coming to Chicago in two weeks :D

OMG, Dani, I can only imagine your reaction! But then, how often in life do we get to learn that awful news is a false report?

I've never given April Fool's a thought, but then this morning I heard a strange report on NPR, about the I-Bod (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5317505) which helps users regulate body functions. It seemed so weird, but of course it then dawned on me. Can I just say that I have big (no longer) secret crush on Scott Simon?

Oh, and does anyone else's city have a St. Stupid's Day Parade on April 1? I stumbled upon ours today in North Beach....

I caught part of Martha's show on Friday, just in time to hear that that day's "Martha's Cooking School" segment was on Charring! :D It was funny, I Tivo'd it, and my family thought it was silly and funny. Apparently she had a stunt double take a fall off a set balcony for the opener, but I only caught the instant replay at the end when she introduced the double.
