I have 3 places on my car where sap has dripped onto the paint. I took it to a car wash where they also do detailing and they didn't want to touch it! Has anyone had this same problem and removed it successfully without damaging the paint job? Thanks Darla

TurtleWax Bug and Sap Remover, Goo Gone, or isopropyl alcohol.

My thought was Goo Gone. It's the first thing I reach for when something is sticky.

I do have Goo Gone but the label is smeared so I can't read to see if it is safe for painted metal. I have been nervous to try anything after the car wash shop turned me down. I guess I'll try a little Goo Gone on a q tip and just try a teeny area first. Thanks Darla

As soon as you remove the sap with Goo Gone, wash the Goo Gone off with car wash soap and water. Sap will do more damage to the paint on your car than most anything you use to remove it.

I cleaned my Mom's car at one of those touchless car wash places and realized that there was sap all over it. The guy who worked there gave me a towel made for getting bugs off cars. I used that, along with my finger nail, to get it off. It was hard work! Good luck!
