I made two new dishes for a BBQ yesterday:

Blackberry-Lemon Upside Down Cake from June 2000. I used blueberries and the cake was a huge hit!

Spicy White Bean Dip from Jul/Aug 98 - another hit. I served it on wheat baguette slices. I think I'll use the leftovers on sandwiches with some veggies.

Both were really simple to make too. Definite repeaters!

I also tried a new recipie for a barbeque yesterday. The lemon basil bean bowl from the May '00 issue is outstanding. I made it without the lima beans, since we didn't have any on hand. Everyone loved it - I will definitely make this again.

We also loved the lemon basil bean dish. My husband doesn't like a strong taste of lemon so I used red wine vinegar and it was still a winner. I'll make it again.
