There's a store here locally that sells these and they're starting to be a neat trend. They're these gorgeous butterflies that you can hang around the room, they "breathe" on occasion - their wings open and close ever so gently, and are just a neat accessory. Just thought I'd post about it in case anyone else was interested. I've never seen anything like it before I wandered into this store...

They also have dragonflies as well. Very cool! :)

Hi Ellery! It's great to see you. :)
I think my mom would love a few of these for her birthday. She loved the butterfly farm I bought her last year. Thanks for sharing.

Ack! The singing bass! See, now that would make me prone to fish hurling... (the new Olympic sport? ;) )
the butterfly was just hypnotizing me at work today, I was feeling guilty because I've been neglecting my BB buddies, so I thought I'd share.
Truly, these things are soooooo cool. Small and delicate, very soothing, good for staring at when you're procrastinating at work.
p.s. I've missed you guys too... :o

How big are the butterflies?

Hmmm, mine is resting at work at the moment or else I'd measure it. I'd say it's slightly larger than life size - about the size of the palm of your hand maybe?

Hmm, those are pretty cool. Do they make any noise when they move?
ETA: I just realized that these would be a HORRIBLE idea for my house. I have cats! But maybe at work....

Nope, no noise. ;) I'm not sure how the cats would feel about them but they'd definitely be cool at work. Have it rest on a plant and see how long it takes for people to notice... :D
