I can't believe I'm the first to talk about tonight's show. It was great! It was like watching the contestants be themselves for the very first time. I really enjoyed them all, but I like Paris the best. It's so remarkable to have that kind of vocal styling at such a young age.

I loved tonight's show. I'm glad they went with the classics, rather than Rod Stewart's original stuff.
IMO, the best performers were Kathryn, Chris and Taylor. I thought Elliott tried really hard, but he sounded pretty mediocre to me.
My bottom 3 would be Kellie, Ace, and Paris.

I enjoyed tonight much more than I thought it would. I still would have liked them to have the option of singing Rod Stewart's old stuff. It was a lot of crooning for one night.
I thought Paris knocked it out of the park. She finally lived up to her audition. Didn't like the orange suit but otherwise she was fantastic. I also liked Kathryn and Taylor.
I like Chris and he held his own, but didn't shine.
The bottom three for me: Elliott, Ace, Kellie.

Oh, great. I decide not to watch and they are actually good? Serves me right.
Loved the show! I enjoyed everyone except Kellie and Ace, so hoping for one of them to leave.
I won't be able to see the results tomorrow, but it should be interesting!

Wanted to add that Kelli is beginning to get on my nerves. I think whoever said she should go into acting got it right. She was being touted as the next Carrie Underwood (sweet, country), but she really is different underneath.

WOW! Great show this week....does Kellie really not have a clue...did anyone see Rod teasing her about "words" and "lyrics" being the same thing
Bottom for me: Kellie, and Ace
Kathryn on top! She looked just beautiful!

I thought this was by far the best show of the season - I loved it! For whatever reason I had just assumed that they'd be doing Rod Stewart's old stuff - so I was pleasantly surprised that they were doing the classics.
Kellie and Ace were definitely at the bottom for me. The 3rd would be a tough pick - but probably Chris for me. I actually thought he did surprisingly well with the theme, but didn't really compare well with the others - he was lucky to have gone first I think.
I thought Paris was the best of the night - the first time she sounded like she did at her auditions. Such an amazing vocal. Kathryn was also stellar. I also really liked Taylor (I got a bit nervous about him in the beginning, but the latter half was great - DH commented that he would be a fun guy to see in concert). And I thought Elliot was great too - I think they give him a really hard time.
I really think it's Ace's turn to go - and I'd like to see Kellie in the bottom three.

I read that the show couldn't get rights to many of his 70s and 80s hits as he didn't write them - so they turned to his recent standard albums. Definitely good for the show! I thought everyone was good except Kellie. I thought Ace actually was pretty good.
Kellie should go home, but I'm worried it will be Elliott - he doesn't seem to have the fan support of some of the others.

I'm with your husband -- I'd love to see Taylor in concert! He'd be a blast!

I agree...Great Show!!
I LOVED Katherine, Paris, Chris and Taylor. Elliot was ok...not great...not horrible. Ace actually did ok tonight but I have ZERO connection with him...He lost me 100% with the scar ordeal.
Kellie needs to just go! I feel for her though because I think she is starting to feel the same...she seems to have lost her steam. I think the bashing websites (votefortheworst and others) far outnumber her support sites. It's gotta be hard...I wouldnt be able to handle it! But that's the life of a star!

Another ditto for great show last night. And THANK GOD it wasn't original Rod Stewart songs. That would have been painful. I was very relieved to hear it was classics/standards.
I agree with the consensus and my bottom 3 from last night are Ace, Kellie, and Elliott, with Kellie going home.

I hope I'm wrong, but I won't be surprised if Elliot goes home in a "shocker." He has much more potential than Kellie and Ace, but I just don't see millions voting for him over the other two.

As much as Kellie really should be the one to go, I doubt it. She's never been in the bottom 3 from what I remember, but then again, nether was Mandisa when she was booted off. Either Ace or Kellie leaving would be good, but based on performance, it really does need to be Kellie.
Katharine is my favorite contestant, followed by Chris. Poor Elliott really lacks personality and that will be his demise.

I think the final three are going to be Katherine, Taylor & Chris.
I think Ace should've gone bye-bye weeks ago. Tonight I think it's going to be Elliot or Ace leaving. I think Kellie admitting she did poorly will save her this week.

I agree with the last sentiment, but I'm more shocked by who WASN'T in the bottom three.

When they split the the contestants into two groups, it was obvious SOMEONE was going to be there that shouldn't be. Yikes! I didn't like the way either group was formed. My two favorites were in separate groups. I'm glad the person who left is gone, but I was shocked with the second to last one.
I forgot to set my recorder last night so couldn't vote. *THAT* won't happen again.
By the way, my mouth flew open when Ryan announced the special coach for next week. Andrea Bocelli?!?!? He's big time! I can't believe he's going to be on the show. My mom is probably already camped out in front of the TV and refusing to leave until next Wednesday! She's been a huge fan of his since his first CD.

Might not have mattered anyway. DS and I both tried off and on for the entire two hours, and we did not get through even ONCE! For ANYBODY! Just a constant busy signal.
Thankfully, all the other fans of my favorite person picked up the slack! YEA!!!!!

Well, I'm glad that Ace was finally "the chosen one". :)
What did you think of Rod Stewart's performance? I can take him or leave him, but my thought was "He's lucky that Simon isn't judging him and if he were a contestant, HE would be the one voted off". Maybe it's my ears, but I don't think he performed well at all. :(

No, I thought the same thing. His voice always has been raspy, but the years haven't exactly been kind to him.

I don't like him as a "crooner." It did nothing for me... I don't know if it was just last night's performance or if he always sounds like that lately.
I admit I wasn't sad to see Ace go.

I know he had throat surgery a few years ago, so maybe that didn't help either.

I'm not a Rod Stewart fan at all and didn't watch Tuesday's show because I assumed, too that they would be doing his songs. Boy was I disappointed last night when I saw that they did different stuff.
I really like the song that Stewart did but I don't think he did it justice.
I'm glad Ace finally got the boot. He just didn't do it for me the way some of the others do. I really would like to see Kellie go though. She just bugs me...I liked her at first but am getting tired of her cutesy act.

I have a question about the bottom 3, are they all really the bootm 3 or are they just playing and only say that and just mix up people each week with the bottom person? I cant believe Chris was the bottom 2.
As for RD his voice sounded awful. I just dont hink he can sing live anymore, only studio recordings where they help cover up the problems

I was happy with Ace leaving. I thought his last performance was probably his best, but it was clearly his time to go.
I know I'm in the minority in not thinking Chris is the best one to win this competition, but I think in all fairness he wasn't as strong as the others in this genre - although he was fine, just not great. Just my opinion.
What did strike me as really a shame was to see Paris there - I thought she was tremendous on Tuesday. I really don't understand what's keeping Kelly in the game.
I was also happy to see Elliot NOT in the bottom three. And I thought Taylor was hysterical.
I was also really surprised to hear that Andrea Bocelli was going to work with them this week - DH was joking that he's just love to hear Kellie sing an Italian aria :)

I agree that Taylor was hysterical.
Andrea Bocelli? He'll be wonderful but what the heck are the contestants going to sing?
Do you suppose they are doing this so people tune in for a train wreck?

I think they said Bocelli was going to work with them on "Greatest Love Songs," or something like that.
To me it seems like this show is closing in on the reality show version of "jumping the shark." Kellie getting more votes than Chris or Paris? Come on...

When they had the contestants in two different groups I knew which one was the bottom three. It is always the one that you would least expect. I was shocked with Chris being in the bottom three (bottom two?) but I guess his fans have just gotten too secure.
I also knew Ace was going home because Simon didn't say anything bad about him the day before. If Simon doesn't criticize then people don't vote. It is almost like Simon planned for Ace to go home by saying something positive even though it wasn't totally deserved.
Did anyone notice that Rod Stewart's fiancee totally looks like Rachel Hunter?!

Boy, Kellie thought Simon's accent was hard to understand??? Wait until she meets Andrea Boccelli. She needs to go next. I think the Vote for the Worst might actually be working.
I wasn't sad to see Ace go. The guy's a cheeseball. He'd make a good boy band member, though.

I actually liked Rod Stewart's performance. Not for its technique (his voice did seem a little weak), but his style. He seemed totally comfortable in the song, while the others sounded like, well, youngsters in comparison.
