I cooked dinner last night using recipes from the July issue.

Teriyaki-Glazed Chicken with Tangy Apricot Ketchup-the marinated chicken was very good, but we didn't care for the sauce. It was bland, didn't really add anything to the chicken, as far as we were concerned.

Chipotle-Maple Sweet Potatoes-This was good. I thought it could have had a little more maple and chipotle flavor, but everyone else thought it was fine the way it turned out.

Chile-Vinegar Turnip Greens-Also turned out good. I had to use mustard greens, as turnips were not available. This was a surprise winner, because I really didn't think anyone else in my house would touch them, but everyone seemed to like them just fine. I loved them.

Black-Eyed Pea Salad with Sour Cream Dressing-Another winner. We all liked this very much. My only complaint would be that the dressing was very runny. It ran into the other food on the plate and that is a pet peeve of mine.

Jalapeno Corn Bread-We did not care for this. It came out too heavy and sweet for us. It had more of a cake taste than corn bread.

Wow! I didn't see the Chile-Vinegar Turnip Greens recipe when I looked through my CL before. That sounds great! I'm definitely going to have to try it. Thanks for pointing it out!

I didn't notice the greens either, will have to try them as I have been trying to find some good recipes for greens. Thanks Terry!
