I wasn't going to start one, 'cause I really don't have anything to say!!!! Wierd, huh?
We have no plans this weekend, and I don't even know what we're going to do. I don't remember when that has happened before!
I have a huge chore to do - ironing - and I don't want to do it.
I need to finish one final exam - take home - and I don't want to do it. I have my last class on Monday night, then I'm done for the summer. In the fall I'll student teach, then graduate.
All my flowers are blooming. I've never had spring blooms before (tulips, etc) and I'm finding that I love them!
I really want to go shopping . . .

Good morning Debie! Enjoy your relaxing weekend.
Well, I have a very full weekend. I am in Portland, OR visiting my dad and stepmom. I flew in to surprise my dad for his 60th birthday, the look on his face when he saw my sister and I was so fun! We have more surprises in store for him today which I am really looking forward to and we are going to Wildwood for dinner which LeighTX reviewed very well a couple of months ago.
Unfortunately, I got a bit of a surprise last night. One of their yellow labs is really scared of new people and for some reason was not taking to me at all. I walked by him last night and he decided to bite me. He grabbed ahold of my hand and wouldn't let go and when you are talking about an 80 lb dog, its not fun. Anyway, my hand is very sore and and swollen but no puncture wounds thank goodness. I don't know what is going to happen to the dog which is what upsets me most but they are very concerned about his reaction and what he might do to a child. :( I'll be okay but it definitely provided a very painful night and some limited mobility and ability to grip things tightly.
Hi to everyone else!

Hi Debie & Robyn,
Ug, ironing. If I were you, I'd go cut myself a lovely vasefull of flowers to smell, then put on an audio book while I do the chore.
Robyn, how's the weather in Portland? I grew up there (well, about 50 miles south on Hwy 99) and I've always loved the area. Traffic is terrible, but it's so beautiful -- at least, when the sun comes out! ;)
I have some horse-related work to get done today. Need to clean all 5 horse pens and scrub five water tubs. Then I'm going to start training one of my fillies and continue working with one of my stallions. They're both virtually wild (never handled at all, grew up in massive pastures) so it's a big job. I love watching them come around to trusting me, though.
I also want to get some herbs in the ground, and green bean & arugula seeds. I'll have to be careful about some of the herbs, as we're still getting a few frosty nights.
DH is across town helping a friend build a backyard fence, so it's just me and the horses and the sunshine. :)
Good morning ladies!
Debie - enjoy your relaxing weekend! Good luck finishing your last exam.
Robyn - hope your hand feels better soon. :( That's nice that you and your sister were able to surprise your dad!
Tamawrite - have fun with your horse chores. Our oldest DD decided about a month ago to take a break from her riding lessons, after almost 3 years. Her trainers had divorced and the husband stayed in town. We were getting a little unhappy with his training, so my DH and I weren't too upset about her wanting to take a break. She'll be going to a couple horse camps this summer just to keep up her skills while we look around for another trainer.
Today it's a cold, rainy day after a beautiful week. The PSU annual Blue-White football game is today. DH and Sara will probably go up if the rain lets up a little bit.
Monday is Sara's 10th birthday. Since Jerry leaves town on Monday, we're celebrating tomorrow with the grandparents. One of the things she wanted was a bra. Now at 10, she really doesn't need one, but "all the girls in her class have one", or so she says. Oh well, we're headed to Target today to look at the preteen "bras" that they have. She's in track and field at school twice a week after school, and she told me she needs a sports bra for that, too. (Not that she has anything to bounce around when she runs ;) , but I guess she's getting to be that age where she thinks she does!)
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hello ladies.
I'm off to walk Bailey before my day of chores sets in. I need to get ready for our Open House tomorrow, so it will be a fun day of pooper-scooping, mowing the lawn and fun stuff like that. Normally I'd probably go all out for an Open House, I guess, but this time neat, clean and tidy will just have to do! No little pretty extras, I'm afraid. The boys will help, but they are not like having Chuck around!
The youngest one will have a friend over to play, but it's nice outside, so they'll probably be out playing most of the time.
Tomorrow is the Open House and our PTO picnic. Too bad they don't overlap much. We'll take the dog and go help out. Hopefully it won't rain - that won't be good for the picnic OR having a dog out with us while we make ourselves scarce for the O.H.
Debie - I like the idea of the flowers and maybe some fun music or a book to make ironing go by with less drudgery. I usually set my board up in front of the TV. I need to do some myself - the bad thing about spring clothes - but that will have to wait!
Robyn - So sorry to hear about the dog bite. :( For both you and doggie. That's disturbing, though and they are right to be worried.
Tamawrite - Have fun with your horse chores. Sounds like we'll both be shoveling crap of some sort. ;) :D
Have a great weekend!

Hi guys. I am going to be trudging away at work most of the day :(
Making up hours from being very busy earlier in the week.
Debie, I was going to graduate next month, but I'm taking an incomplete for one of my classes because, with our house up for sale it has been impossible to keep up with that class. I should have everything completed for that class by the end of July and then I get my diploma :D
Some good news for my older son. Their team is currently in 3rd place in our district. This is his third year on the varsity team.....last year their record was 3 and 20  . Last week they beat the second place team and were winning a second game against them the next day, but it was rained out and will be continued May 2nd. They have such a great coach and all of us parents have known each other for years, gone on trips together, and now our boys are finally doing well. We are so proud! They have to be in the top four to go to districts, and if they keep playing like they have been it will happen.
Alysha, good luck with the open house! We have people come to see our house every day; sometimes 2 different people in one day. I am totally exhausted by trying to keep the house spotless all the time  . And nobody has made an offer yet. I may take it off the market for just a month to give myself a break!

Are you kidding - every day?????? That would drive me insane - especially with no results! How long has it been in the market??
Whoops - I missed Sue somehow. Hi Sue. :) My friend is having the opposite problem with her daughter. She needs a bra but doesn't want to go get one - so maybe you have the better of the two. :)
Well, dog is walked, time to mow the lawn.
I am looking forward to later this evening. I promised the boys we could eat outside and have a fire. We HAVE to take SOME time for fun. :) That's assuming our 40% chance of rain doesn't come to be.....

It's been on the MLS for about 5 weeks, I think. We are priced 50k LESS than all the other houses for sale in our subdivision so we are getting a lot of lookers. My friend who does mortgages said we might be priced too low because a lot of agents only search for a certain price range and we may be below the price range. But I would think we would've had an offer by now. Once in a while we might have one day per week where nobody comes, but basically it is every day.

Suzy - years ago my parents needed to raise the price of their house to make a sale. They were getting offers...but they were too low. Once they raised the price, the house sold
Not much planned here. Michael is at a track meet with 22 other teams. His dad went to watch and since Alex doesn't want to go and I don't want to hang out with my ex...I skipped the meet. Need to run to the grocery store to get the ingredients for a cheesecake for supper club tomorrow night.

That's odd. How weird you could raise a price to sell a house! That definitely doesn't happen in our market! :)
We look at a very wide range of prices when we house hunt. This last time, the range was about $75k. You just never know. Something that seems priced low might be a steal for a variety of reasons and something priced high might come down. We like to keep our options open.
Good luck!
Whew - I have not quite half the yard mowed. I love a big yard - except when it needs mowing. Friends tell us we need to buy a riding mower for our next house since it's over an acre. I'm thinking that money is much better spent in my kitchen and on removing all the ugly wallpaper! :)

Hey, guys...it's a stressfull weekend at Casa Kindell. Rob's going through some med changes, and his ODD is in full bloom. Add that to Pat being very intolerant, and it's just a constant zoo around here. I'm trying to stay busy and not dwell on it, tho.
Suzy and Alysha, have you done the trick of burying the religious statue in the front yard to help sell your house? There was a thread about it a couple of years ago...people said it really worked. I can't remember which saint you're supposed to use, tho. Maybe someone who knows will see this and chime in. Good luck! ;)

Ha! We had someone jokingly suggest to put a picture of the current president of the predominant religion of southern Idaho/Utah on our wall ;)

OK I know it's no longer Saturday but I was just reading the klatch and Alysha - word of advice on the wallpaper: rent a steamer! We had used that DIF wallpaper remover in our living room and it worked great, but the 2-story front hall was foil paper with 3 layers under it and it was taking forEVER. I was paying my little college-age BIL to scrape it, he can always use money for rent & bills but one day he showed up with a steamer he rented for $25, in less than a day the whole hall was cleared.

Thanks, but I think I'll rent a person! :D ;) I really want someone to come in and remove it all before we move in - and prep the walls. I'd love to have it painted as well, but if we can't afford that, I'll settle for just the removal part.
I shy away from it only because I tackled the job in one smallish room in a different house once and it took FOREVER. How easy it is - no matter if you have a steamer or not, and we did - is largely dependent on how well the owners prepped the walls before they put it up.
The people in this house we just had the offer accepted on had started to take it down in the bathroom and you could tell it was NOT coming down easily. So I'm not even going there with the rest of the house - I think the bathroom is already telling me it would be a nightmare. It would take me MONTHS to do it all.
So, bottom line - I'll paint it myself if necessary, but I'm trying to avoid the wallpaper removal at all costs!!!!
