View Full Version : Please pray for my cat...
She's not been feeling good all week and is spending her 3 day at the vet. She is running a fever and was dehydrated and they thought she might have an infection. We just got a call to meet with the vet this afternoon as they think they feel a mass in her bladder or near it. I don't want to worry but can't help remembering my sister's cat that had cancer. Lucy is DH's baby and I don't know what he would do with out her. We feel she will probably have to have surgery next week and will find out more when we talk to the vet. :(

Prayers, of course, for your sweet kitty. It's just sooooo hard to think clearly when they're ill, especially since they can't tell us where it hurts. We have two Golden Retrievers and feel the same way for them as you do for your kitty-cat. Prayers and your vet's skill will do wonders!! Please keep us posted. . .

Many good thoughts and crossed fingers for you and Lucy.

Thanks for the prayers and support. The vet feels like Lucy has lymphoma. She(the vet) could see on the xray a tumor and was able to feel it once she knew where to look. Lucy will have an ultrasound and needle biopsy next week to determine what it is exactly. The vet said this was treatable but not cureable and we need more answers from the vet before we can decide what to do. I have been crying almost since I heard yesterday and did not get the best sleep last night. I just want my spunky kitty back....

I don't know anything about lymphoma in cats, but it sounds encouraging that the vet said it was treatable. Sending positive thoughts to you & Lucy.

Lymphoma is usually treatable, depending on location and exact type...
Good luck with the biopsy, and if you have any questions or need anything clarified, I would be happy to do my best.
Hugs to everyone

Thanks for the prayers and support. Lucy had an ultrasound yesterday which did not determine enough so she underwent surgery. Unfortunately, the cancer was very advanced in her intestines and we had to put her to sleep. She was such a wonderful cat and did not deserve to go through all of that. She had recently had her birthday and I was thinking, we will have her for about 10 more years (she was 10, I wanted her to live to 20). I felt so sorry for DH last night, she was "His" cat. I had the other two cats on my lap and he was sitting on the couch alone. :(
Goodbye Lucy, we loved you very much....

(((((Hugs))))) to Laura and DH - I am sooooo sorry to read of your dear kitty's passing. It's definitely a bite in the butt, but kitty suffers no more. I will keep you in my prayers and tell my Goldens to say their puppy prayers for you as well - I know it works. (((((More Hugs)))))
