In the fall, that is. I sent in my deposit today, and I will be attending Wellesley College come September! It's been quite a process, and I've come a long way since a few months when I posted about my search here. I've been posting at my college board for a while, but now I'm back here at the bb! So, I'd like to thank you for all of your great advice, and thought I'd let you know how it worked out! I actually visited Wellesley and Boston (and the MFA!) last weekend, after visiting Middlebury in Vermont, which was absolutely beautiful! I can't wait to be in Boston, and try out Blue Ginger, at least once (I've had to remind myself I'm on a college budget ;)) Maybe I'll get a chance to meet more of you Boston area bb'ers, as well! I'm still a little worried about the cold weather, though...

Congrats!
I remember how thrilling it was to A. know I actually got into college and B. I actually wanted to go to one of the colleges I got into! :) You must be so thrilled and relieved.
I visited a friend at Wellesley during college - the campus is amazing! And the buildings - I do love the old gothic look. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time!

Congratulations! I remember what a nice feeling it was to finally have the college decision made.
...AND... welcome to MA! I have never been to Blue Ginger either. Maybe when you get here we can have a CLBB outing there to welcome you!

Meg congrats!!!
I know Middlebury and Bryn Mawr (and Smith!) were probably hard to say goodbye to. DS made his final choice today too, and it was hard to let the other schools go.
I'm so happy for you and Wellesley will be awesome!

Way to go Megan!!!!! At the last Supper Club you sounded more excited about Wellesley than any place else.
We'll have to make sure to have another dinner before you boogie!

Congratulations! You are going to have a wonderful experience at Wellesley and I'm sure the campus looks lovely in the SNOW! :D Not to worry, by the end of your 4 years you'll be a hardy New Englander like the rest of us. Yes, winter can be unpleasant but I always find that even then New England can give you some surprising, take your breath away moments of unexpected beauty. I lived in a desert climate for 6+ years and I pined for the seasons here. Welcome to Boston and wishing you every success with this new chapter in your academic career.

Congratulations! You'll love it. One of my dearest friends here is a graduate and her mother still works in the library there.
So - I'm curious - where else did you apply / get in?

Meg - congratulations! It'll be great to have you here in MA and see you again!
We'll have to organize another NE klatch, but we'll be hard pressed to beat the last time we all got together with you in Harvard Square at Veggie Planet.

Thank you all so much! A bb get-together would be wonderful, we'll have to plan something. And I would love to come to a supper club!
Suzy, congrats to DS! What a relief for you, too. It was hard to let the other schools go, especially after visiting them! In the end, Wellesley really stood out, though.
Mariana, to satisfy your curiosity- I also got into Middlebury, Smith, Bryn Mawr, Grinnell, UC Berkeley, UCLA, and Scripps. I was waitlisted at Harvard, and rejected from Swarthmore and Bowdoin. In the end, I couldn't be happier for how things worked out.
Loren, I loved Veggie Planet, I'll have to go to lunch there again sometime. It will be a nice relief from dining hall food. Although I made sure that the food was half-way decent (and there are student kitchens!)... some schools I visited were terrible; they were automatically cut from the list. ;)

Congratulations Meg!! As native New Englander who transplanted to Fresno for 4 years, I'll confirm that the weather shift is a bit of a shock... but I expect you'll love Wellesley, and maybe even find the winter to be an adventure. btw, your essay about the marathon was obviously a winner! Next stop, Boston Marathon??

Next stop, Boston Marathon??
Well, that is one of my lifetime goals, although it will take some work to qualify! I didn't qualify this year due to age... not that I could have anyways.
