I cant find a good cleaner, that cleans wood wihout taking the finish off. My Kitchen cabinets are getting built up with grease, fingerprints, etc, again they are natural wood with no finish. I have wasted so much on product that say "cleans grime and dirt, but no avail and they are so naster smelling I am going to kill myself with teh fumes.
So any good recommendations?
TIA

Murphy Oil Soap is a good cleaner for wood.
Ditto. Very gentle on the finish and outstanding at removing grease, dog drool, even nicotine (one of our previous homes' last owner had been a chain smoker).

Ditto! I comes in an oil form as well as cloths. The bottle is probably cheaper to use, but the cloths are handy for 'in-between' cleanups! ;)

Yet another ditto. Over time it really brings out the natural highlights of the wood and it smells nice too.

I thought Murphys oil soap was one of the ones I have tried that didnt remove the grime, I will check my cupboard when I get home, I may be thinking of something else though
If not I will give it a try
Oh and I cant stand all of those new products with that orange smell, makes me gag!

Most times I just use some dish soap and water on a cloth. Since I use Dawn, it works well if something is greasy. I only use the Murphy's a couple of times a year.

I would use Murphy's Oil soap too. If you have a lot of stuff built up on the cabinets, you probably will have better luck using the concentrate diluted in a bucket of hot water (and a fair amount of elbow grease :) ). I think the ready-to-use spray and the pre-moistened cloths are ok for quick cleanups, but IMO they don't have the cleaning power of the concentrate.

I use unscented baby wipes. :p Removes grease and grime, keeps paint and the finish.

I found a wonderful product at Lowes (I think).. called Cabinet Magic by Magic American Corporation. It's a spray cleaner. It actually took about 30 years of dog slobber, grease, dirt, etc off my previous cabinets. I had tried everything else and was just amazed. The man in the cabinet department at Lowes said that is what they use in the store so figured I would give it a shot. They also make a countertop cleaned that does real nice also... good luck...
