My DH is threatening to throw away my pile of CL magazines. Does anyone know what years the CL Complete Cookbook covers? I'm afraid by magazines will disappear before I can remove recipes.

The CL Complete is not like a compilation of every CL recipe. It is just a book full of very popular CL recipes, it doesn't cover specific years. WHile it might have some recipes you may want, invariably some will be lost if he throws them out. It's better to get old CL Annuals for a complete year's worth of recipes. I saw some locally at my used bookstore.

When DH threatens to throw out something of mine, I just threaten to throw out his golf clubs.

I just checked my library and the first Cooking Light Annual to have all recipes per month was Annual 1997. Prior to it I guess the beast or more interesting recipes were selected.
My DH sometimes points out cooking magazines are taking over but he knows he better not touch them....(his golf clubs might "suddently" dissapear for a while)

Not only am I the queen of the kitchen, I also am the Queen of the three ring binder. When the new CL comes in, I go through the magazine and rip out the things that sound good. I then put them in those magnetic/plastic covered pages used in photo albums. Those recipies that we like stay in the binder, those that we do not make way for others. I made a cover for the book and call it "Light and Healthy Recipies". I also have a binder with "Lizz and Jim's Need to Know". I printed out all the phone numbers we often call (friends, family, work) , directions to our house, measurement equivalents, menus for local restaurants and put them in plastic covers. It really saves time . Just a suggestion to avoid Magazine Pile-up. My friends make fun of my binder obession, however, they always ask to see the "cookbook"

Thanks to everyone who responded. I'm on vacation next week and I think I know what I'll be doing--going through my CL mags. I've read a lot of the recent threads on recipe storage and as much as I try to keep up, sometimes the magazines take over. I usually cut recipes out, tape on a piece of paper and put them in the appropriate binder (i.e. desserts, meat, veggies, etc.) My DH installed three shelves in the kitchen for my binders and I think I may be running out of space. Maybe if I use that cabinet in the garage....
