In celebration of our return from our Italy vacation I am throwing a dinner party for 8 this Saturday where the menu is authentic Italian cooking. I bought the "Essentials of Classic Italian Cooking" by Marcella Hazan and have planned a menu from it. I am thinking of cooking Pasta with Bolognese sauce, Drunk Pork Roast, Spinach sauted with garlic, Diced Roasted Potatoes, and Egg Custard Gelato. Has anyone tried these recipes or any others from her cookbooks? Any suggestions or comments? Thank you!

Hi Jogren,
I have well worn copies of her cookbooks.
I've had the Spinach with Garlic and the Diced Roasted Potatoes and they were great. I've had Drunk Pork Roast, but I'm not sure it was her's. Who's ever it was, it was delicious.
I haven't tried the Bolognese Sauce because I'm not such a fan of it. (I'm Southern Italian, we're not so "classic".)
I haven't tried the Egg Custard Gelato yet, but it sure sounds wonderful.
Good luck with your dinner. Be sure to post afterward.
